Before reading Outliers, I would have said, "Malcolm Gladwell is a literary genius." Now I have to take it down a notch and acknowledge that Gladwell is a hard-working and somewhat lucky person who took full advantage of the opportunities afforded him by his upbringing and environment. Between The Tipping Point, Blink and Outliers, Gladwell has created a trilogy of stimulating and thought-provoking works that shine light on otherwise unexplored ways our world develops its people.

Books on end times prophecy often overextend themselves with specific interpretations and speculation on exact events of the future. David Jeremiah avoids this extreme with solid scholarship mixed with interesting stories and anecdotes. As a pastor, I love hearing stories about what God is doing through local churches. Michael Catt's report of what God is doing through Sherwood Baptist Church is inspiring. - This is a church that is thinking creatively, acting courageously, breaking down racial barriers, creating disciples, and doing a ton of good in their community. - They built their city a sports park with the money earned from "Facing the Giants." Pastors always need fresh ideas. Reading the story of this church has been very encouraging to me. I recommend it to all church leaders.

BUT, some training tips from those who've studied it always helps. So I like books on prayer that are very practical and/or inspiration. All the books on this list&hellip Read more
