I'm normally an 11.5, but the size 12 Puma is a very snug fit on my feet. I'd strongly suggest ordering at least a half size up from what you normally wear to account for this snugness. The shoes themselves look great, but they're sorely lacking in the comfort department. If you're on your feet walking around for more than 2 hours in these shoes you'll start to wish you had some running sneakers with support or Nike Air type cushioning....Read more
This little gadget is incredibly motivating and incredibly easy to set up and use. I bought this for my wife who often struggles with motivation to get to the gym. Apparently this little robot is a better motivator than I am...
Right out of the box the only assembly that's required is inserting the little battery into the back. A plastic tool is included in the package to help you twist off the battery case. The battery doesn't click in like you think it should, but then you just press down on the plastic case and twist and you're good to go.
Also included in a box is a little USB adapter, but you'll never use this if you have an iPhone since you can sync to your phone through the free Fitbit app. Assuming you have an iPhone you'll just download the app and it will guide you through the rest of the installation. Set up a free account, enter in some basic info, tap on the Fitbit a few times and then you're in there like swimwear.
My wife clicks the little device inside of her bra somewhere. She assures me it's safe in there and I have nothing to be jealous of. At any point during the day you can sync from your phone and check your steps, calories and distance without having to unclip the little device. There is an easy to use dashboard showing stats on the app. You can access some more interesting graphs and you can even enter in your calories from food/drink all day as well as entering in your weight manually to get a complete picture. (There are also digital scales that are wireless and will also sync with your Fitbit account)
Overall I can't recommend this little Fitbit highly enough. I mean even get one myself (despite owning too many GPS watches and running devices) just to further motivate my wife through some healthy competition.
We were going on a trip to Portland, Seattle and Vancouver so we were hoping to find one guidebook to bring with us that covered all three cities. There were a few different options from all of the major travel book brands, but this book stood out with its glossy pages, helpful street guides and mini walking tours. Unfortunately, all of the graphics and color meant that there was less actual information. The book was helpful in planning what we wanted to see, but then when we actually got there we were looking for more information about what we were seeing.
I'd recommend heading to your local bookstore and reading this in the store while taking some notes in your phone.
Great desk organizer for a smaller workspace. I used to have a big office where I had the luxury of using one of the Rolodex mesh organizers that held all sorts of office supplies. I've since moved to a much smaller workspace and needed an organizer with a much smaller footprint. This product did the trick and nicely stores pens, pencils, highlighters, scissors, rulers and post-it notes. The two slots on the left are supposed to hold notebooks, but it only holds tiny little journal type books....Read more
We have Version 3 of the BEx Analyzer at my work, but this book is focused on latest version of BEx (Version 7). I was hoping there would be enough similarities to be a valuable resource, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The first few chapters were relevant and helpful for a novice like me, but once the focus shifted to Query Designer and then more advanced topics it ended up losing its utility for me. Our BEx Analyzer tool is highly customized and users can't create too much more customization on top of it. I needed a book to help me utilize the features of the tool and change the display and query output, but this book focused more on simplistic data/queries and how to build things from scratch....Read more
The lock is extremely easy to set to your own unique combination. Just a little pulling up/down and twisting of the post and it takes less than 30 seconds.
For whatever reason Amazon can't tell you what color lock you're actually going to get, but mine ended up being red. I don't think this is a really big deal, unless you're using this at the gym and there happens to be a bunch of other similar locks and you get confused.
It's built solidly and is almost a little too big/heavy for daily gym use. It's far superior to those skinny little luggage locks, but it does feel a little like overkill putting such a big lock on a little gym locker.
Perfect size watering can to take care of multiple indoor plants, while still being able to store easily in the cabinet under the kitchen sink. I was getting tired of filling up water bottles to water and making multiple trips just to get the plants watered This watering can was just what I needed. Easy to fill up in the kitchen sink, just the right size, and much less of a mess given the narrow opening at the end....Read more
If you own a Philips Sonicare toothbrush then you're locked into eventually purchasing replacement brush heads. If you're like me then you've probably worn your current brush heads out well beyond when the little blue indicator turned white and the bristles frayed out. Using the new brush head with the firm bristles definitely cleans on a different level and your gums might be a little sore after the first few uses.
Amazon has some very competitive prices, even better at a per unit price than when you buy the 6-pack at the bulk warehouse stores.
I was tired of spending $20 every 3 weeks to get a haircut at Supercuts when all they were doing was using a clipper at the same length all the way around. Since I wasn't sure if the self-haircut experiment would work I didn't want to spend more than $40 on a pair of clippers. After doing some research online I came across these clippers, which had great reviews and seemed like they would get the job done.
The main (big) clipper exceeded my expectations. It's comfortable to hold and the various guides are easy to clip on and off. The cord is long enough to reach the bathtub from the outlet by the sink and while the motor is powerful it doesn't *usually* flip the circuit breaker. I've used the clippers twice and there was no discomfort or hair pulling. Everything was cut pretty evenly and the only difficulty I had was dealing with my sideburns/ears. There are special taper guides for the ears, but I haven't tried those yet.
The smaller clipper is basically a piece of junk. It's powered by a double A battery, but as soon as you turn it on you can hear it straining and I'm confident it will break in no time. The blades are pretty harsh directly on the skin you're trying to clean up. I'd highly recommend the Norelco Body Groomer if you're planning on using this little guy for any sort of extensive clean-up work.
If you travel a lot, particularly to higher end hotels for business trips or vacations then you will definitely enjoy this book. It's a little vulgar in that it has some Tucker Max type language, but not nearly on that level and it's much less frequent. I actually love the quotes from rappers randomly inserted in various sections.
The book mainly focuses on the main character's experiences from working various parts of the hotel, especially the front desk where he spent most of his time. The characters are interesting as you would expect given that it takes all types to work all the various shifts and functions at a hotel. There are some tips about how to game the system, which can be helpful, but I found the most fascinating part to be the various ways in which hotel employees find guests to be annoying. I was guilty of more than a few of these without knowing any better.
This is an easy read that you could easily finish on a cross country flight for your next business trip.
