I've been using Brew Rite for years, and there was a time when it was hard to find: I'm really glad to see Amazon has it now. Brew Rite is very simple: it's not a chemical, it's some sort of calcium compound (Calcium Carbonate?) and time and again I am amazed at how well it flushes out my coffee maker--I even use it to clean the equipment, too. Brew Rite is easy to use: you put water in your coffee maker, spoon in one tablespoon per 4 cups of water, then run it through the maker as if you were brewing a pot of coffee (if you have a charcoal filter like my Braun does, I'd suggest taking that out first). Brew Rite washes through your coffee maker and picks up all the… Read more

Dino Esposito is a genius. He manages to write technically in clear language without making the reader feel like they're thumbing through a "For Dummies" book. That said, Programming Microsoft ASP.NET 4.0 is not a book for beginners: this book is a soup-to-nuts reference, but it starts from the assumption that you know the fundamentals of either the VB.NET or C#.NET language, and thus a bit about how pages work. If you're new to .NET Programming, I recommend starting with a more entry-level book such as Jesse Liberty's "Programming C# 4.0"...and then making this book your go-to reference for all things ASP.NET. ASP.NET is a technology that uses the .NET Framework… Read more

Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" is the ultimate hyperactive attention-deficit music. With heavy synths, tons of video-game noises, and chopped-up samples that ratchet back and forth across the tracks, at times it can make you feel like you're being frog-marched out to the dance floor and forced to throw down. The sound here is fast-tempo dance beats, punctuated with staccato notes and short, stuttering samples. If you're in the mood for robot-noise without the fuzzed-out mess of industrial music, "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" will be your guilty pleasure, with blips and bloops aplenty. As a child of the '80s, I am highly susceptible to the sound of… Read more

This is a collection of the games I've watched my daughter and other kids enjoy in recent years. For younger ages, these tend to be easier and safer--'cartoon violence' and/or 'comic mischief' is about as bad as it gets.
This list plays the field of driving games: it has arcade-fun titles, smash-up games, persistent worlds, serious nuts-and-bolts sims, and drop-in racing. I love a lot of different types of racing games, and I hope these help you to find the ones you like too.
If you like racing games, or you think you really want to start ramping up your skills, you're simply not going to get the same level of enjoyment out of a controller pad. This isn't the "Money is no object" list--this is the guide for the rest of us with a bit of cash and the desire to&hellip Read more
