UPDATED 11/21/13: After carefully ensuring the numbers on the tags on the bags matched their info (they make a few different bean bags AND one of them has been replaced so rep got back to me so we were sure about the ones I got) I was told the small, hard bits are "gravel"! Bizarre but I guess that was to add weight. WHy the heck they don't just fill them with beans or rice is beyond me...Anyway, no worries about peanut or tree nuts..
These are just what I was looking for but with peanut, tree nuts and sesame seed anaphylaxis allergy in my 4 yr old grandson, I don't dare allow him to play with them until I find out what was used to fill them.
I should have asked up front but didn't think of it until I got them. The label says Made in China but also says "safety tested for children of all ages". What does THAT mean? Sounds like nonsense to me...
These are from Oriental Trading Company which is a company I ordered from a lot when I taught at a nursery school, but that was long before kids were cropping up with these severe allergies.
By feeling the bags, I know there is some type of plastic used; those "beans" are hollow. But there are also hard objects that could be anything. Some of those can be broken down in the bag with my fingers, and other hard bits are solid & cannot be squashed.
My fear is that the "safety testing" did not include peanut or tree nuts or anything concerning possible allergic reactions.
If I'm able to find out, I'll update this..
Bought this in Dec 2012 for hubby & now see that it's been replaced by Version 5! Either I missed something or I, like many others, got the royal screw. I've since learned that once a newer version comes out, there is no free support for the previous versions! We are new at this & hubby just got around to downloading Lightroom 4. He bought a new iMac that is replacing his PC so of course he needs the newest version. Gimme a break! There should be a trade-in or discount for those who just recently bought a version that then gets replaced....like in 6 months or something, no?...Read more
The cats really enjoyed chasing these before they went missing. I'm here writing feedback today so am reminded that I need to re-order. I also gave these as Christmas gifts to cat-owning friends. All said same thing; the cats love them!...Read more
You never know when you'll need to crush a pill for an animal or even for yourself, so this is a handy item to keep on hand. I don't recommend using this for both pills and produce, so get two of them and keep one in your medicine cabinet for that purpose only....Read more
I like the oval shape of these sturdy ceramic dishes. As far as I remember, I ensured they are lead-free before purchasing them. Cat's like the wide shape too as I've read that the base of their whiskers is a network of nerve sensors so it's best to give them a wider bowl for food and water to keep the whiskers free from being smushed. Who knew?! :)...Read more

My cats prefer the Classic (pate) line of Fancy Feast, and I like the fact that there is no soy, corn, carrageenan or wheat gluten.
BUT Fancy Feast Classic still has 2 HUGE issues!!!
1. the least offensive is the fact that some Classic flavors still contain food dye. Why? (cats don't care so this is purely marketing)
2. The WORST issue is the inclusion of Menadione Sodium Bisulfate (a synthetic form of required Vitamin K). Menadione Sodium Bisulfate has been BANNED in human food as research has seen a link to cancer so it's now considered a carcinogen. GET IT OUT OF OUR CAT's FOOD!!
There are 2 other (safe) forms of synthetic Vit K so Fancy Feast needs to get on the ball & have an otherwise great cat food. I still feed it even though there are safe pate's out there (not available in grocery stores or most pet shops) as too new. Check out WIld Calling for instance....I hope Fancy Feast read these reviews as we need to get them to do the right thing; others are already doing it, but they are mom & pop companies just starting out; they don't have much of a chance imho...
A niacin "flush" is a great reliever when feeling out of sorts & irritable. Flushing is actually the only way to know that it's working & that you've dosed enough, therefore go for a bit of a flush & see for yourself. I discovered the benefits of Niacin while reading Andrew Saul's books "Doctor Yourself" and "Fire Your Doctor". I decided to keep this on the supplement shelf for times where a flush might be indicated. My adult daughter tried it when feeling moody one day and she did flush which is only slightly inconvenient, but she felt much better for having tried it. One of Saul's books told of niacins effectiveness when treating psyche patients for schizophrenia, instead of using Big Pharma drugs. The studies are remarkable, yet we continue to treat without thought of lack of supplements as causative to whatever the health issue. This is a big one & I hope that the allopathic community will one day consider using Niacin flushing in the treatment of schizophrenia, but not holding my breath. For an interesting read, get one of both of his books. His info about Vit C is what led me to ascorbic acid as my daily go-to supplement to prevent viruses & flu. I've been 9 years flu-free since discovering this author (and others) about supplements. Niacin is one I hope I never truly need, but sounds promising & effective!...Read more
This needs to be on the shelf of anyone studying Classical Homeopathy. Hahnemann is known as the "Father of Homeopathy". The problem with current practitioners is that they continually toss the baby out with the bath water, forgetting that Classical Homeopathy is a strict science in and of itself; one doesn't need to add more bells & whistles to what already works...Too many are ill-trained in the basics such as aqueous dosing & succussing before each dose. Hahnemann said the body never wants the same strength dose twice in a row. No wonder so many people scoff at the idea of little sugar pills in a vile; the directions given on the viles are incorrect & the ones telling them how to dose have no clue what they are doing. Reading this book will offer insight in to true classical homeopathy. Follow Hahnemann and you will get better results. Forget the other fluff...(just my take). If your practioner isn't using the 4th, 5th & 6th Organon, run!!! Buy the book, learn a bit & ask questions before deciding on who to use to help with your health.....Read more
