This OXO Garlic Press feels solid and is pleasant to hold. It's well designed in the sense that it's all one piece with no extra parts to lose--just flip it over and press to get the excess unused portion of garlic out of the chamber after pressing. Therein lies the problem: The large amount of excess unused garlic that remains after pressing. This unused portion is stripped of moisture and not viable for use in a recipe. Before getting this garlic press I was chopping around 6 cloves of garlic per day. Without a press, 100% of the garlic clove is used. This press results in wasting at least half of the garlic clove--basically the entire surface area of the clove because only the innards make it through the press. My disappointing conclusion is that garlic quantity and quality is maximized by chopping it with a high quality knife. Note: This review is based on processing the garlic after removing the skin. I tried pressing the garlic with the skin on but doing so results in even more of the garlic being wasted....Read more
I've been using this pressure cooker an average of once per day for 8 months now. Some days I use it several times for day for steaming, rice making, and soup. The product is reliable, versatile, and the company is responsive if you have questions or problems. Be sure that the silicon white ring on the lid is properly in place and that you have the minimum one cup of water in the unit or otherwise the cooker may not come up to pressure.
Update: 18 months later this pressure cooker is still getting heavy use and holding up great. Highly recommended.
These are my favorite shoes. They are well made and durable--a good example of, you get what you pay for. Despite the 3-inch heel they are supremely comfortable. In fact they're more comfortable than most shoes with far lower heels. At first they're a little snug but, as with most leather shoes, they loosen up with continued wear. Love the brown color. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they're leather and I dislike purchasing animal material, but not enough to pass up these otherwise superbly made shoes.
Update: After several months of wear most days of the week I like these shoes even more.
I've run in Nike shoes for the past couple of decades and the Air Max has been my top preference for years. It was time for a new pair and I bought these online in my usual size 7 in mango. Sadly, they resemble cheaply made over-sized clown shoes. I could live with the hideous color and look of the shoe if they fit right and had decent support, but they don't. The shoe consists of cheaply made plastic lowers with flimsy mesh uppers, yet the shoe feels heavy, clumsy, and bulky. I've always taken a size 7 in Nike but these are not true to size--lots of extra room in the toe box that would only work right if you have pointy little tippy toes. It's not surprising that this Air Max+ 2012 ranks poorly on durability. I bought them directly from Nike.com, which promises free returns if you register on the Nike site. But I've already spent over an hour on the phone trying to get the prepaid return shipping label but still haven't received it because they claim that the system isn't working right. I read some reviews on other sites stating that the air deflates from the sole area rendering this shoe useless for running after only a short period--again not surprising when you see how cheaply made this shoe looks and feels. Nike just isn't the quality brand it used to be....Read more
Update to my original review below (and I bumped my rating down to 3 stars): After a few months of use the plastic supports on the bottom of both bowls have broken off rendering the chopper not usable. I really miss having the chopper and would purchase a second one if it were priced below $20.
I highly recommend the Kitchen King Pro for chopping onions, garlic, greens, peppers, herbs, and more. One of my favorite features is how you can control how coarse or fine the chop. The chop feature is also FUN to use. The variable julienne feature is nice too. My cooking went up a few notches when I started using The Kitchen King Pro. Easy to clean, easy to use, well made, well designed, nice price. Doesn't get much better than this. Actually it does because it also comes with a very useful extended spatula, egg separator, a whipping blade, and a salad spinner. Don't get too excited about the salad spinner though as it's on the small side.
I probably sound like a commercial for this product but the truth is, I really like it a lot! I paid $25.10 for the product on Amazon and feel this price is outstanding. I'd consider the $39.99 regular price as good/fair. The product seems sturdy and is holding up well so far.
One recommendation: Take 4 or 5 minutes to actually read the manual--it's easy and quick but worth the effort as it gives you tips for getting the most out of the product. A previous reviewer complained about the result after putting the base into the dishwasher, well the manual clearly states that all of the parts EXCEPT the base are top shelf dishwasher safe. So protect your investment and read the little booklet that comes with it!
This is a very sturdy rope toy and plenty long for great tug-of-war games. It is holding up well even with my aggressive chewers. My dogs love having the extra knots in the middle. Would purchase it again for sure....Read more
