You base buying decisions on reviews. Heck, that's probably one of the main reasons you come to Amazon. Editorial integrity is therefore vital.
With increasing frequency both publishers and authors have offered promo copies of various books, sometimes with strings attached. I will accept free copies of books, however, I do not promise a positive review or any review at all. If I read it and think it's great chances are it will get a good review and 4 or 5 stars. If it really sucks it may get a disparaging review and an appropriate number of stars. If you are publishing or writing a book you think I might like, feel free to send a copy.
Business strategy, Marketing, search engine positioning, and improving people's experiences are among my profesional interests and pursuits. I was (in?)formally educated in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, worked at Halo technologies for a while, with the title of Information Architect. I've been working in Internet marketing and search engine optimization for some time now. Workin' on the ODP takes up a lot of my time, as does skiing, from PA to Europe, bartending now and then, and of course (haven't decided yet whether it's a good or bad thing yet) workin' on the web constantly. You'll find some insights on web marketing as a project of mine, www.webmarketingsuperstar.com.
Maybe one day, technology won't consumer our lives, and promise to make them simpler, as it adds endless layers of complexity, and undue amounts of stress.
The books I read and review, make sense of the biz world. They touch on psychology, business, strategy, the web, marketing, and philosophy. Mostly real people and real world issues. On rare occasions, I let myself drift in to the world of fiction, and you will find a few titles representing that arena, though often tied to business in some way. I'm an acquarius (sp?) - Feb 17.
Until the day comes when I'm able to head off to the Piz Gloria, hang out with James Bond, and Octopussy, ski till I can't ski anymore, and experience the mezmerizing beauty of the alps, and other natural wonders at will, I'll be a workin' stiff just like you. Hope you find the reviews helpful, and feel free to email with any questions. Havin' trouble getting listed in ODP, maybe I can offer some sugestions. I welcome inquiries and comments about book reviews, however I DO NOT WISH TO RECEIVE UNSOLICITED COMMERCIAL E-MAIL (ie SPAM) RELATING TO THE ABOVE TOPICS. IF I HAVEN'T OPTED IN TO YOUR LIST THEM DON'T PUT ME ON IT. THANKS:)

It seems that the difference between the black Quinoa (this product) and the regular (white?) quinoa is that the black still has the edible hull on it. Any quinoa is healthy and nutritious but I prefer the regular (white) version. The black quinoa is heavier in the stomach, more filling and does not pick up the taste of garlic or other seasonings or flavors added to it as well as the regular quinoa dies.
I suspect the black version has a lot more fiber than the white due to the hulls and as a result may prove to be the ultimate colon cleanse diet.
Either one seems to cause a lot of flatulence, though it generally seems to be a rather harmless, inert, odorless… Read more

This isn't the typical type of book I read but with some friends and relatives in med school and the medical profession, it seemed like it would be interesting to read about Gabriel Weston's journey to becoming a surgeon.
When you read this book, it takes a strong stomach. The accounts of the various situations and surgeries are so vivid you feel like you are right there watching things unfold, except you can't close your eyes to shut out the images. Nothing in here is sugar coated. The physical pain, the emotions, the sights and smells are all presented and described in graphic (and sometimes gory) detail to make the reader feel as if they are in the OR watching the… Read more
Reiki is new to me so maybe my expectations don't yet align with reality. I have a class coming up to learn more. I bought The Reiki Touch: Complete Home Learning System which was enlightening and very good overall and a much better investment than this DVD.
This DVD consists of:
1) The guy who put it together talking a little bit, explaining a little about Reiki.
2) The camera pointed at a crystal for about 15 minutes.
3) Showing some sketches of the hand positions for another 10 minutes or so.
It was like a low quality home movie that didn't seem to offer much value… Read more
