For two decades, he has been the book reviews editor for Journal of Recreational Mathematics and is now also the co-editor in charge of articles. In addition, and a regular contributor of book reviews for Journal of Object Technology. He is also the author of five books in mathematics and one in computers and finds additional gainful employment by serving as a technical editor of computer books.
Charlie has been programming for over twenty years, which makes him experienced and well-rounded rather than old and cynical. He teaches computing at all levels: corporate training, college and community education and is President and CEO of Charles Ashbacher Technologies. His background also includes stints writing commercial code and software to conduct scientific research.
On the personal side, Charlie spends as much time as he can with his partner/soul mate/best friend and wife Kathy. She brings out a poetic side of him that he never knew he had. It is a wonderful feeling. They share many things, including a beautiful house with many decorations, including antiques and a genuine chicken cage.
He can also be found doing handyman work for elderly widows with his daughter Katrina.

This book could have been so much better had there not been the supernatural references involving a serpent and an egg. Sarah is a widow with a child in war torn Iraq after the American invasion has unleashed the brutal sectarian violence. Every criminal imaginable is now using the excuse of the battles between religious and ethnic groups to settle old scores, earn money by kidnapping and extortion and sometimes just killing because they can. "The Trouble with Tribbles" consistently ranks as one of the most popular of the episodes in the original Star Trek series and gets the vote of many for the most humorous. Once the technology was available to dub new characters into old footage, the decision was made to develop an episode of "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" that involved inserting the DS9 characters into "The Trouble With Tribbles." This was done very well and the DS9 episode is as humorous as the original.
