I just finished Amber Spyglass and am amazed at all the inconsistencies and the plot threads that were completely dropped in the final volume of the trilogy.
*MAJOR SPOILERS*
Worst offenders:
- The significance of the subtle knife. Wasn't the whole point that mankind made a knife that could cut ANYTHING, including God himself, therefore making it the only thing in existence that could kill the Authority? But in Amber Spyglass the old guy just kind of fades away getting out of bed! WHAT?!?!!
- Wasn't there something about Mary tempting Lyra? About Lyra being Eve and leading the world into a second fall? Where did that plot point go… Read more
