I published my first YA novel, Choices, and named my small self-publishing business after my teenage niece, Kapri. I like books and movies that evoke emotion, so when I wrote Choices I wanted my readers to be moved in the same way. It is an emotional, thought-provoking story for mature readers. My thanks goes out to every person who supports me by purchasing my novel. I also appreciate it very much when a reader takes the time to submit an honest review.

Listening to music from many different genres (Christian & gospel, R&B, jazz, pop, some country) and watching movies. I have an abundance of DVD's, which include Sidney Poitier, James Stewart and Henry Fonda collections, because there's nothing like watching movies starring Hollywood greats. And I like to read. Christian fiction is my genre of choice. However, lately I've been reading more Teen fiction -not always Christian - than adult fiction.
Jason Vincent is the star of Cross High's basketball team. Half of the girls at his college-prep school want him, but Lisa is his girlfriend and they've been together for a year. Jason doesn't have it in his heart to disrespect a female, so even though girls are in his face all of the time, flirting and giving him their phone numbers, he'd never actually cheat. There is one girl he's been eyeing since ninth grade, though. Her name is Kyra Evans. She's confident, she's smart and she's not trying to fit in. She's different than most girls. So different, in fact, that when Jason spends quite a bit of time with Kyra working on a school project, Lisa isn't the least bit threatened. Afterall,… Read more

Rick's brother, Travis, commits suicide and Rick is shedding no tears. He and his brother weren't close, they were far from it, in fact, and Rick (Sharif Atkins) did not front by pretending he was all broken up about Travis' (J. August Richards) death. What he did do was try to find out a few things for himself to prove his brother didn't deserve all of the praise his father gave him. Truths come to light and a hurtful secret is revealed.
I heard about this movie and it sounded interesting, however, I bought it for one reason - Sharif Atkins stars in it. I used to watch him years ago on ER and I'm always glad to come across a television show or movie he takes part in.
Now about… Read more
I love to listen to music and I like different genres; especially Christian/Gospel. To me powerful lyrics are thought-provoking messages that move me to say "Amen" (so be it, expressing strong agreement) and it doesn't necessarily have to be a Christian artist who's singing.
Homer Price by Robert McCloskey has been a favorite since my teacher read it to the class in grade school, Sisters & Lovers by Connie Briscoe, Eyes of a Child by Richard North Patterson, Joy by Victoria Christopher Murray, Nothing But Drama by ReShonda Tate Billingsley.
Kirk Franklin is my favorite artist, and I really like Michael W. Smith. Also, I recently discovered tobyMac, and I love what I've heard so far.
Songs by India Arie are always nice to listen to , Alicia Keys has become a favorite, since I bought 'As I Am', and I love Chrisette Michele's debut album.
"The Old Settler" w/Debbie Allen & Phylicia Rashad. The ending is heartbreaking, but Debbie Allen's character keeps me laughing to that point. And "No Time For Sergeants" w/Andy Griffith.
Although I'm doing my best to cut down, I love kettle cooked chips and jelly beans. I like the white jelly beans the best, because they remind me of a vanilla popsicle I used to eat when I was younger. And the pink one's are pretty good; they remind me of cotton candy.
