This is another great adventure story in the Stories from the Golden Age. I enjoy reading the big 100,000+ word thrillers, but I find that reading these shorter pulp adventure stories gives me that adrenaline rush that I really like, but only get intermitently in the big books. But here I can get the full story in a few hours and really feel the excitement of the story. Here, we have naval lieutenant Jonathan Daly on an expedition into China in search of the lost treasure of Kublai Khan, the long dead Emperor of China. The intrigue, as members of the expedition would get killed or go missing, kept me turning the pages to see how it resolved and if he really would find these lost red… Read more
