This album has the soul of avant-garde technical metal, with the exuberant smile of the cutest feel-good pop. At times, it feels like two songs are playing at the same time. But after fiddling with my browser tabs, I realize, no, it's not someone's obnoxious profile page...the album is just that dense. It sets itself aside from other "denpa" type music, if you're already into it, by having a very IDM feel...like if Aphex Twin was a cute 15-year old Japanese schoolgirl. I loved "Up In Flames" and "Milk In Kindness," so I was quite eager to get this album. I was sorely disappointed. The whole album flows into a muddy, tinny mess of forgettableness. It was hard to find the motivation to actually listen to it. I guess it's just hipster stuff.
Viz's print release of this volume has edits to the art in order to make it more prude-acceptable. Such censorship is completely unacceptable for an imprint (SigIKKI) that specifically aims to bring more mature manga to adult readers.
