I got this book because I'm a teen leader at my church for our summer camp and I wanted to become more equipped in helping them. However, this is a Catholic book and I am Baptist so this book did not meet my criteria and I will be deleting it from my Kindle....Read more
I love this ring and I get a lot of compliments on it. However, make sure to order a size down. I usually wear a size 6, but it's too big for my ring finger. I have to wear it on the middle finger of my right hand, which is okay, but I kind of wish I had ordered a size 5 so I could wear it on my ring finger. Other than that I love this ring!...Read more
I've been wanting a giraffe crossing sign for the giraffe section in my room. Usually when I find one at a zoo they are $15-$20, but this one was a great price even with shipping. It looks cute in the corner of my room that has a shelf with giraffes on it....Read more
It's a pretty good case and I love the colors, but it is just a little hard to get it to snap all the way. It took me a few minutes to get it on and I was afraid I was going to end up breaking off the little slide piece. You have to push it together really hard to get it to stay, but once it is on it's a nice little case for a great price....Read more
My GiiNii digital photo frame recently started having problems, so I started looking for a new one. I came across this one right here on Amazon. The price was great and it got great reviews so I purchased this frame. The pictures are much clearer than my GiiNii was and I like that it comes with a remote control so that I can turn it off and on easily. I like the motion sensor too so that if I leave the room for awhile and forget it is on it will save power, but come on again when I return. A lot of people complain because you have to buy a SD card (or other media card) in order to display pictures. I find that much easier actually. All you do is put pictures on your card and then pop the card right in. It's really easy. Great frame. Great price....Read more
I am a long time fan of the Baxter family. I'm still working on reading the Firstborn series and Sunrise series, but I've read all of the Redemption series and loved it. I'll admit there may be a little bit too much tragedy for one family, but I do like that they show that they still trust God and do not lose their faith even though some may drift for a time. I was really excited to hear that a Baxter finale was releasing. I read the book in a day and a half. Some of it was repetitive for me because of reading the other books, but I do understand that it was to help new readers understand and it actually refreshed my memory about some things. I very much enjoyed the book. I won't spoil it for anyone, but I will say make sure you have tissues handy, it's definitely a tear jerker. At the end, God is glorified even through their tragedy....Read more
If you are the owner of a Kindle, stop reading the reviews and go buy The Hunger Games on your Kindle right now! Start reading it, but prepare to nothing else the rest of the day/night. This book will suck you in really fast and you will not be able to put it down. If you had bought it a week ago, you would have saved $4, but it is definitely still worth the $7 it is now! I can't even explain exactly what it is that makes this book (and the rest of the trilogy) so compelling, but I promise you will not be disappointed. It is incredible and just so fascinating. I had to practically pry my Kindle out of my hands while I was reading it so I could get other stuff done (like eat and take a shower). You have until March 23, 2012 to read this book before the movie comes out! I can't wait for it! Read the book first!!!! If you don't have a Kindle order the book and the minute it arrives in the mail start reading it. :) Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do. May the odds ever be in your favor as you read it. Then go see the movie on March 23. The world will be watching....Read more
Ever since Kindles first came out I was opposed to them. I guess I was kind of judging them blindly. I didn't really look much into them other than "Why would I want to read on a screen?" "I love the feel of real books" "I don't need something else electronic, books are the only thing I have left."
While I still do love real books too, the convenience of the Kindle Touch is amazing. I did a LOT of research on Kindles before I decided to get one and I'm glad I did. It was a great decision. Reading off a Kindle is just like reading off a book. It isn't a screen in the typical sense (it's not backlit and it is not LCD). I love being able to highlight, look up words in the dictionary, make notes, carry multiple books with me with virtually no weight, etc. All of my reasons for not wanting a Kindle are pretty invalid. I would like to see the price of e-books drop significantly though. We should not have to pay as much for an e-book as we do a real book. However, if it is a book I really want and can save even a dollar or two, a trip to the store, or shipping costs it is worth it. I am definitely in love with my Kindle Touch and I'm really glad I decided to take the plunge into e-reading.
I saw this movie first in theaters. During the course of the movie I laughed, I cried, and at the end the entire audience applauded. As I looked around after leaving I saw a lot of misty eyes. A lot of the women in the theater were older, so I know they must remember what living through this time was like. As a 30 year old, I did not live through this time, but this movie made feel like I did. It was a very powerful and impacting movie. I bought it on DVD so now I can watch it over and over. I also have bought the book, and while I haven't read it yet, I have heard nothing but amazing things about it and I will definitely be reading it soon! It's not only a must rent, it's a must buy!...Read more
I am 30 years old and I love this movie! I first saw it in theaters this summer and knew I would be buying it when it came to DVD. I did! The night I bought it I watched it and then I watched all the special features. Just a side note to all who have said the penguins are computer generated. In the special features there is a whole feature talking about how they trained the REAL penguins. The penguins in this movie are REAL penguins! As soon as I watched the movie and special features, I immediately watched the special features again! This is a great, clean, family movie. No junk in it at all. One movie that isn't animated that any age can watch without embarrassment. Highly highly recommend this movie!...Read more
