'Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.' --Groucho Marx
An accountant by day, I spend my nights reading and watching TV and movies when not playing ultimate Frisbee or hanging out with friends.
I've always liked recommending what I've enjoyed to my friends. I hope that by looking at my reviews, you'll find something new that you'll enjoy.
A word about my ranking system. As with most everyone here, I have my own system that I loosely follow when ranking items.
5 Stars - Wonderful. I loved this item and highly recommend it.
4 Stars - Enjoyable. I enjoyed the item, but it's not quite a 5 star. Still recommended. Often, the difference between these two is small.
3 Stars - OK. The item in question is not really good or bad. I won't go out of my way to see it again, but it wasn't a complete waste of time.
2 Stars - Bad. I'm sorry I wasted my time and money on something I rate a two or one. There was a little something that almost redeemed the item, but not enough to make it enjoyable.
1 Star - Horrid. This item has no redeeming value at all. A complete waste of time and I recommend you avoid it at all costs.
Of course, since I'm choosing the items I read/listen to/watch and review, most items will be a 4 or 5 star review. And, obviously, these are my opinions. But if you didn't want my opinion, you wouldn't be looking at my reviews in the first place. :)

The fourth entry in this series of ornaments features Snoopy as the leader of some scouts. Again, we've got a something taken from the comics. Snoopy is wearing a wide brimmed green hat and a yellow scarf. Woodstock is sitting on Snoopy's hat wearing the exact same outfit. I can almost picture the rest of the birds following behind them or roasting marshmallows over a fire.
This one is a little simple, but it is still plenty of fun. Again, even the casual fans of the strip will enjoy hanging this one their tree every year.
In May of 2008, the Chapman family suffered the loss of their youngest daughter in a horrible accident. Out of the pain and anguish comes this very personal, very honest, very moving disc.
And before I go further, you must buy the CD as such. While the notes don't give much background, they do discuss the story behind each song here. It truly adds so much meat to the disc. And, frankly, it moved me to tears almost the entire time I was reading it.
Given the serious nature of the theme, the music is very subdued here. Most of the songs are slower, with acoustic guitar or piano forming the base with lots of strings for texture. There are percussion and other… Read more
