mmm, first eric brown book i've read, starts off great, intriguing and well written ,but once the 'sf' elements are introduced it lacked any genuine sense of wonder, an almost amateurish description of the science fictional aspects.............an alien race called 'varks'??......pleeease!...characters motives and feelings are well described but i read sf for BIG ideas, not love stories, is he writing this for the readers of the richard and judy book club?!....they'd love it....probably....but give it a read , i finished it in 2 sittings, not bad just not brilliant...Read more
