I'm an avid Photoshop user who's only recently switched over to Lightroom for digital photo processing because of many of the built-in tools that makes this much easier. Lightroom 4 is a great continuation of this product line and with all the new adds and tweaks, it's better than ever. Unfortunately it does still suffer from the usual Adobe handicap of being a memory and CPU hog. It should be noted that this the first official release of Lightroom that is 64-bit only. Older users on XP 32 or 32-bit MacOS will require upgrades (this may be the number one reason people keep their older versions of LR3 around). What can you say bout Shalom Auslander's Hope: A Tragedy: A Novel without crawling in and around all the potential spoilers? I can say this much - I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I picked up this book, and the small blurb in the book's description didn't really help. Needless to say, it was a book worth reading even though there were quite a few spots where I ended up having to reread several paragraphs while scratching my head and thinking "Ok... what just happened? What did I just miss?" To call "Hope" a dark comedy is a bit of an understatement. To me, even dark comedies have moments where you end up laughing out loud at the absurdity of it all… Read more

Yves Meynard's Chrysanthe is an interesting story - one that unfortunately needed a much heavier hand by an experienced editor. If there's a single criticism I could level upon Chrysanthe, it would be that it's simply too long winded. There are several storytellers who are skilled enough in wordcrafting that a 1200 epic story feels like a short 400 day novel. Yves is not quite there yet, but I could see reading some of his other works down the line. In reality, Chrysanthe could have been two or three separate books.
