I've browsed other quinoa books in the past, but they never left me feeling inspired enough to want to add them to my already large cookbook collection. But since I've had so much success with Camilla's recipes in the past, I just knew this one wouldn't let me down, and it certainly did not! For any of you who NEED tons of photos in your cookbooks, please do not let the fact that there are only a handful in this one dissuade you. These recipes can stand on their own, with or without photographic evidence. I have a particular fondness for the Vegetarian Main Dishes chapter, but the book also features many other types of dishes: Breakfasts, Appetizers & Snacks, Soups,… Read more

I generally do not read self-help books, but this title caught my eye at the library and I decided to check it out. I am not a terribly disorganized person, but there are a few areas in my home/life that have been in need of an overhaul in terms of organization. As good as my intentions have been, good intentions do not get the job done. Enter Andrew Mellon's new book. I took out this book intending to just read a few sections to help me with problems areas in my home. But once I started reading the introduction, I was hooked and read the whole thing in about a week. The writing style is accessible, down-to-earth, inspirational, and funny all at the same time. It was like having a… Read more

I really love this cookbook. I've been a subscriber to Cooking Light on and off the last few years and this cookbook seems to contain the best of the best of the magazine's recipes, at least in my opinion. I love the bright colors and fresh, vibrant tastes of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The recipes featuring those ingredients are precisely the ones you will find in this book. For example, I came home from the grocery with some fresh rhubarb last week because it had just come into season and looked great, but I had no clue what to do with it. I checked the index of… Read more

I am an avid reader of fiction and have always loved a great story. I will admit that I have a soft spot for Young Adult fiction (even though I am getting a little too old for it, it's still my guilty pleasure) and I am a sucker for a happy ending. My favorite books tend to be the ones that have a&hellip Read more
This is just a list for me to keep track of the cookbooks in my collection that I have actually sat down and read. This is not to say that I read every single word of every single recipe, just that I've read any informational chapters the book has, I've looked over all the recipes, and have a&hellip Read more
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that my collection of cookbooks has surpassed the 100 mark. What can I say? I love food, I love to cook, and I love cookbooks. I was going through my collection today and wondering, if I were to start from scratch, which cookbooks would I buy again? Which ones&hellip Read more
