Murder Beneath The Buried Sky is one of the most sheerly enjoyable stories I have come across in a while. How to describe it though?
It is a Noir mystery in the finest sense. Kinda felt like Dashiell Hammett to me. Which for me is a very good thing.
It has a Sci-Fi dystopian society which is nicely fleshed out.
It has, if not an element of satire, then an insightful socially critiquing eye.
It has speed. This story does not lag.
It has good writing.
And, it has an allegorical philosophical framework that, if you want, you can ponder, adding depth to the story and, one might argue, adding a little shamanic effect to the work as a work of art.
