In My Own Words:
Inquisitive by nature, I particularly enjoy reading scientific, technical and engineering books as well as all sorts of science fiction and some types of fantasy. Theology and Church history form another significant part of my library and reading, with special attention to the Church fathers, the Reformers, and the Puritans. Outdoor activities take up most of my spare time, shared between health… Read more

2000 Years of Disbelief: Famous People With the Co&hellip by James A. Haught

1.0 out of 5 stars A Surprisingly Bad Book, March 26, 2009
Stuffed with quotes excised of context, Haught's "2000 Years of Disbelief" has achieved a degree of popularity among amateur atheists for the simple and simple-minded reason that it flatters them. The subtitle, "Famous People With the Courage to Doubt" clarifies the book's purpose -- not to propose a reasoned defense of atheism but to give it the glitter and sheen of a cult of personality by linking atheism with "Famous People." The premise set forth in the subtitle is similarly disingenuous, labeling doubt -- which the dictionary defines as uncertainty, fear, and dread -- as "Courage." This is classic Orwellian Doublespeak.

Some of the quotes in this book are presented… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Home or Home Office, December 30, 2008
If you have more than one phone, more than one phone line, or both, this is what you've been looking for. With the ASAP-2080 callers can ring each of your extensions separately, great for multi-person offices or families with teens. If you have two phone lines, including VOIP, "MajicJack" or standard lines in any combination, you can make both lines available to any of your phones. Faxes, card validators and data line calls are routed as needed, and calls can be easily transferred from one extension to another.

Requiring only common single-line Touch-ToneŽ telephones and standard consumer-grade wiring, the ASAP-2080 offers most of the power and features of an expensive and… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than You've Heard, December 28, 2008
Ignore the mainstream leftist media reviews; this is a funny film with some truly touching moments, and it tells a great story. It's worth the price for Jon Voigt's George Washington alone, but everyone puts in a great performance and the result is a movie that'll make you laugh, cry and -- perhaps oddly for its genre -- think.
