In My Own Words:
On January 6, 1992 I landed in Moscow on a business trip with my former husband. We had just left the airport when we were ambushed, kidnapped, beaten, tortured and held for ransom for 11 horrifying days in a dilapidated country house by a gang of Russian "gypsies" who were in reality far more cold-blooded conspirators in a sinister plot that joined the Russian Mob, ex-KGB agents and early al-Qae… Read more On January 6, 1992 I landed in Moscow on a business trip with my former husband. We had just left the airport when we were ambushed, kidnapped, beaten, tortured and held for ransom for 11 horrifying days in a dilapidated country house by a gang of Russian "gypsies" who were in reality far more cold-blooded conspirators in a sinister plot that joined the Russian Mob, ex-KGB agents and early al-Qaeda operatives looking to fund terrorism, no matter the cost of human life. I was rescued and survived, a million thanks must go to the US government. I will probably never be free of the painful echoes. This is the incredible story of those Eleven Days of Hell - My True Story of Kidnapping, Terror, Torture and Historic FBI and KGB Rescue and of one of history's unlikeliest rescue operations. Against all odds, the FBI and Russian intelligence agencies joined forces for the first and only time in history. Reliving the agony, horror and torture I endured, I have also unraveled the twists and turns of the rescue mission. Through my own research into the confidential case, I have woven a heart-thumping narrative of drama and intrigue. I write from my heart about the devastating impact of the kidnapping on my marriage and my life. I share my new found appreciation for the simple, meaningful things I had come to overlook in my drive to the top of the corporate business world... lessons in life that apply to all of us.

I must preface my opinion of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by expressing the fact that it was extremely well written, well researched as well as most compelling.
Whether it is part history, part fiction or both, could to be debated ad infinitum by readers and scholars alike.
Along with many readers, I was drawn to read this book, not only for reasons of fascination and curiosity about the life length of Jesus Christ and surrounding theories, but because of the recent "Claim Of Theft" trial instigated by two of the authors of "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" against Random House and the intensely private Dan Brown of "The Da Vinci Code" fame.
For me, comparison was… Read more

Even though I do not belong to the generation of which Tamara Draut writes, she makes perfect sense of the difference between the years gone by and 2006.
If one is to point the finger, it COULD be aimed at many variables.
Economic market saturation, population explosion, greedy health insurance companies, rising oil prices (with not too much justification), a downturn in tourist industries worldwide, rising housing costs, stock market crash in the early 1990's, rising unemployment,...the list COULD be endless.
However, pointing the finger does not cover all answers.
Having said that, each student or prospective employee has a different set of… Read more

No matter what the year, which director of the FBI sits at the head of the organization or how many major catastrophes are in focus at any given time, the FBI will always take the heat for the so called negative occurrences perceived by the public, media or other security related departments.
If Louis Freeh, William Sessions or Pope Bendedict was the main man in the FBI office, it wouldn't make an ounce of difference.
The critics would always find fault with decision making inside the bureau.
From where Louis Freeh sat during his reign, he believed, and still does, that he did the best job he possibly could.
Anyone given such a position with the… Read more
