I replaced my HTC Sensation with the LG G2. I expected faster, but by comparison, this screams.
Essentially, the software is the same. That is, the apps I use. I still use Facebook, Skype, Netflix and the rest. What's significantly different is how quickly they perform, the battery time (oh my!), and the speakers.
Speed The whole device reboots fast, and each app seems to have no real delay when opening.
Battery You'll read all sorts of math supporting how long the battery lasts. I must admit I don't understand most of it. I do understand the truth of it, and that is it lasts forever. Maybe not that long. I am no longer afraid that if I go out… Read more
Queen is often thought of as a Freddie Mercury-led collection of over-the-top lyrics and vocals. There's good reason for that. One need listen no farther than "Bohemian Rhapsody" to know what we lost when Freddie died.
But wait, there's more.
Queen was a band of equals, but with different strengths. Queen's Brian May, considered among rock's best-ever guitarists, penned "Good Company," a fun, sad song on "A Night at the Opera."
Stylistically, part-Dixieland, part-Paul McCartney, "Good Company" is reflective -- the story of a man who starts off well, keeping good friends about him (good company) per his father's advice. As life goes on, he and his wife pull… Read more
I grew up Catholic, served as an altar boy, followed the sacraments and thought I was a Catholic.
I received this as a gift from my parents. While thumbing through it, I realized I had no idea what being a Catholic was.
"Catechism of the Catholic Church" -- officially published by the Vatican -- is used by both protestant and Catholic schools to teach what Catholics believe. The top evangelical college in America (Wheaton College) even uses it for their Catholic theology course.
I realized while reading this I had no idea what a Catholic baptism was, what the Catholic Church said about saints, what Rome has to say about Catholics who have converted to… Read more
Banana Bars with Chocolate Chips:
Banana Bars is a recipe my mother used when I was a child, and among my fondest memories include her sharing them with me. Essentially, they are a sort of banana bread with chocolate chips. Unlike a bread, though, they are softer, with a chocolate chip cookie&hellip Read more
All I want for Christmas is not two front teeth. I have them, thank you. I will get back to you when I am long retired if this is no longer the case. Until then, I'm good.
For the famous song: Jones Laughing Record
I do not want a gift basket unless it is filled with money. You can also give me&hellip Read more
What I read tends to be randomly chosen through accidental discoveries. That's why you'll see children's books and dictionaries. Both have their allure.
I have been a distant fan of folk music, especially American, since I was child. A good banjo, a slide guitar, and a fiddle or two can make for a lot of fun.
It doesn't stop there. I love classic rock, and classic pop. Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, and even Spanky and Our Gang are just a few.
Here is where you should be reading about "Citizen Kane" and other classics. I love those, but I love John Wayne and Jackie Chan movies too. Whatever happened to Charlie Chan and Ma & Pa Kettle?
Since I met my wife, I have fallen in love with Hungarian culture. You will see an increasing number of Hungarian books and DVDs reviewed not just as they relate to my website, HungarianBookstore.com, but my own curiosity. I have found many poets like Attila Joszef translated into English who impress me. There is more to Hungary than paprika!
