In My Own Words:
Amazon is awesome! I have come across, and chosen many great books based on reading other people's reviews. And, I have reconsidered a purchase when it's something I was iffy about and it turned out to have a lot of negative reviews.

Besides providing helpful information for other inquisitive readers, I think it's similar to what Carolyn See refers to as 'Charming Notes' in her book called 'Makin… Read more

The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls

I think the author keeps you hooked because of the shock factor. As you're reading, you just can't believe all those things happened, and you keep reading to see what else will happen.

It's a story about a very unconventional family with parents who lack parenting skills to an extent that goes below neglect and endangerment. The kids are courageous and brave because they have to be. While a whole lot of this woman's early life was sad, there were some admirable things about the family and their story.

The book shocked me, saddened me, and made me laugh. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reduce Your Death Anxiety, November 13, 2008
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
"Death awareness may serve as an awakening experience, a profoundly useful catalyst for major life changes" -From the Book

Using a variety of examples and sessions with clients, books and movies, philosophy and myths, Yalom helps us to explore and understand our fear of and aversion to death.

I found this extremely helpful in easing my own fears of death, I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh I love this thing!, November 10, 2008
Almost 3 months of owning this, and I am still in love!! I usually read several books at a time, and never leave home w/out a book. -Usually 2-3 because I can't decide what to take. This is SO nice because it holds roughly 200 books so I can pick out whatever book I feel like reading at the time w/out having to tote them all around. The size is wonderful, fits great in my purse and is comfortable to hold in my hand. I read sitting up, standing up and lying down and w/this, my fingers and hands never get tired of holding a thick or bulky book or flipping the pages.

This product is very user friendly, once you get it, you can be up and running with reading your first e-book in a… Read more
