Book Review Nelson's Trafalgar
The Battle of Trafalgar which took place off of the Cape of Trafalgar near Cadiz, Spain was the last important sea battle of the Napoleonic Wars. Most of the French Fleet was destroyed and for the rest of the war Napoleons fleet which was actually larger than the British Fleet was kept bottled up in ports by blockades. This prevented a planned invasion of Great Britain and aided the British in the land war which lasted another 10 years. Maverick Town : The Story of Old Tascosa by John L. McCarty
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful:
This is the story of the town of Tascosa, Texas from its beginnings to when it died out in the early 1900's. It is a great western but it is all true. The town was pretty rowdy like most cattle towns. There is one chapter on Billy the kid and two on Pat Garrett. Each chapter has very nice pen drawings on the first page. If you like true to life westerns in the tradition of Charles Siringo you will like this book, I did.
