So, here's an observation regarding Amazon reviews, based on my personal experience. If you don't apply a 5 star review to a book you get a spate of critical reactions from fans who enjoyed it. OK - I get it. But yet, how can you alert prospective readers, especially those who rely on the integrity of my reviews, that "This is REALLY a 5 Star review?"
I find this to be a significant point, especially for an author like Dan Brown who is clearly in one league, while virtually everyone else is in a lesser one. In "The Lost Symbol," it's about the depth and the detail, the flow of the story, and the pure desire to read every word on every page, then wish there was even more… Read more

This is my first Vince Flynn book, which I bought after seeing him on Glen Beck and hearing him on the radio.
Unfortunately, this is not a positive review, which I feel a bit badly about since the story is about the heroics performed by two CIA counter-terrorists after a savage, pre-book, post 9/11 terrorist attack on the United States. And I also feel badly about applying a tepid review given Flynn's writing style - smooth, conversational and unchallenging from vocabulary standpoint. Flynn writes for his readers, and this is hard to beat. And, there were some very good/interesting insights into the working of the CIA and the political in-fighting between elected Officials… Read more

Given the distressing trend of fact manipulation by the news media (especially) over the past ten years, I was eager to read about 48 liberal lies that were of particular significance throughout history. Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed. It's not that the lies were not rooted out and explained, but that I had not even heard of a number of the lies in the first place.
As a result, despite the relatively short chapters allocated to the correction of each lie, I struggled to turn the pages. Frankly, it took me more than a month to read 48 Liberal Lies - much too long to labor over a book.
