In My Own Words:
I appreciate Amazon because it provides our family more time to spend together. I've purchased everything from A-to-Z (Antec USB-Powered Notebook Cooler and the Zojirushi Mr. Bento Stainless-Steel lined Lunch Jar) and items as large as a refrigerator and as small as pack of gum. I subscribe to Amazon Prime and use Amazon's Subscribe & Save. Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Westcott's non-stick coating on Titanium blades is a welcome feature for scissors; especially handy if you need to cut through a wide range of craft supplies, including materials that are already taped or glued. I tested this pair against packing tape, duct tape and Scotch tape. The non-stick coating makes a big difference. My wife is a pre-school teacher, so it seems like every night she's cutting paper, cloth and card stock for the next day's classroom activities. When we first married we owned one pair of scissors. Two children and a teaching job later, we have more pairs of scissors around the house than cordless phones and remotes combined. The good ones are placed in a… Read more

Once you get past the marketing pitch (contains over 131 pieces) you find 50 alcohol prep pads and 50 bandages; 10 each of latex gloves and gauze pads; two packets each of antibiotics and burn cream; and one each of the following: tape, tweezers, scissors, and cold pack. Surprise. The kit is made in China. The list price is [choke, choke] more than $50 with a… Read more

Our previous set of bamboo bowls finally wore out after many good years of use. This Lipper set of bamboo salad bowls are larger, lighter and more attractive than our old set. Durability depends on how well you adhere to the cleaning rules: No dishwashers! Hand wash with mild soap. No berries, cherries, pomegranate seeds or Kool-Aid colors! These bowls stain easily but you can lemon juice to clean it up. Store in a cool dry place! Don't leave these out in the sun or filled with water in the bottom of the sink. The bamboo will react to severe conditions. The Lipper set of four small, honey-colored bowls are seven inches in diameter and… Read more

This is an offshoot of my previous list, "Bedtime books for young children." During the holidays, I add these books to our bedtime reading rotation. There's magic, humor and reminders to be thankful for the blessings of the season.
I received a lot of great feedback from my first Nintendo DS list (Young boys' Nintendo DS games) and requests for more superhero titles.
There's few fun superhero games available for young players. I look for games that are easy to understand, avoid unnecessary gore and language, and capture&hellip Read more
