In My Own Words:
Married, 3 kids, have a job. You may love or hate my reviews but I guarantee you'll know what you're getting into and what I think about it. (And isn't that the real purpose of a review, anyway?) If a reviewer doesn't get negative votes from some, he's not worth reading.

I admit to being a bibliophile. I'm embarassed to admit how many books I own. I also have very little time between my job, family, church and community involovement from Rotary Club to politics. So, I try to read what is of worth - including what is of worth for entertainment. I love to re-read a rousing Louis Lamour or sci-fi/fantasy work for the occasional break. I detest philosophy (other than religious) because it is so empty. Even the best philosophers (whatever "best" means) are so vague that it is hard to distill anything useful from their writings. I find most current fiction void of meaning and entertainment - mostly because of profanity, sexual content and egregious violence. I have never read (nor will I) anything along the lines of popular vampire books or trashy, what I call, women's current fiction. (I'm not referring to romances but to current best-selling fiction) So to sum up, you won't find philosophy, best-selling fiction or horror in my list of favorite books. I enjoy fiction, especially many of the classics. I enjoy travel and adventure writing (but not mountain-climbing accounts). I enjoy biography and history. I enjoy religious writing like C.S. Lewis and George MacDonald but not the current PC automatic writing or new-age pseudo-intellectualism. I enjoy some westerns, some sci-fi, and some poetry. Favorite poets include Whitman, Yeats, Jeffers, Pound, Cowboy poetry, Browning, Kipling and Portuguese poets like Camoes and Pessoa. Anyway, if I haven't scared you off yet, here are a few books I either enjoy or find of worth or both. Vincet Veritas!
