Shun TDM0723 Premier Chef Knife, 6-Inch by Shun

Like all Shun knives, this is truly a piece of art and a pleasure to work with. It holds an edge exceptionally well and has peerless balance. The 6" size is perfect for 90% of prep tasks. I get much less hand fatigue when performing large amounts of prep with this knife versus the more traditional 8" model. So why 3 stars? This knife, like every piece of the Premier series I've purchased, seems to have very poor quality control. The first two I received had multiple defects including chips in the blade (both), marks in the finish (both) and a cracked handle (just one). The third was acceptable, but was still imperfect (small nick in the handle). Unacceptable for a product in this… Read more
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes by KIDS II

5.0 out of 5 stars 8 Month Old Loves It, August 26, 2010
My son is usually fascinated by new toys for about 10 minutes. They then get the old heave-ho and are recycled for use a few weeks later when he usually gets another 10 minutes out of them. Not this one. He has consistently been amused by this for hours at a time for weeks. He'll stare at the blinking lights and press the music button over and over. He also like to chew on the handle. A bonus for us is that unlike most musical kid's toys, the sound emanating from the Take Along Tunes is not headache inducing. A great product. My only criticism would be that the sound wheel should be made of plastic instead of cardboard as it has not worn very well.

These are from Nason's Lounge series which is a less expensive alternative to his signature collection. They are made in China (as opposed to Italy). I purchased them mostly because of the man-made sole. All of the signature Nasons I own have a leather/wood sole that makes them pretty much useless in the rain. They look great with jeans but these boots are made like complete garbage. After three wearings, they are already showing significant wear. Many of the studs have already fallen off, leaving the boots with several tiny holes in their place. The finish on the boots has begun to rub off. Do not wear these with lighter colored pants- I have black marks on the cuffs of the lighter… Read more
