A book with 152 pages should be a book for 8-10 year olds. In today's market, young adults are happily picking up 300 page books without blinking an eye at the length. So much more could have been done with this book- When you look at the author's facebook page, you see pictures of grown adult mermaids, there are no teens at all. And she says that those represent her characters. But they don't- this book is about a child- Sex in young adult novels sell, the author should stick with that m.o. Also, about the author's biography, not EVERY mermaid gets their start in the Middle East. And human should not be capitalized.
