America, Welcome to the Poorhouse: What You Must D&hellip by Jane White
4.0 out of 5 stars Why Americans are broke., November 12, 2009
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Jane White's new book is very informative on exactly why Americans are broke and what government reforms are needed to get us back on track. While I agree with Ms. Whites facts on what caused the current economic woes for Americans and even 80% of her opinions on personal solutions of limiting debt, contributing to a 401K plan, buying a house you can afford and purchasing used cars. I strongly disagree that the government could provide the solutions through reforms that could lead to more affordable housing being built, mandatory 9% 401k matches by all employers with more than 10 employees, and direct student loans and grants from the government to allow households under $60,000 to send… Read more
"IRAs, 401(k)s & Other Retirement Plans": Taking Y&hellip by Twila Slesnick
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This book is about the nuts and bolts of how retirement plans work in relation to IRS tax guidelines. It is not about how to position your money in investments or rate of returns or compound interest. It is all about taking your money out with minimum penalties and taxes once you are ready to retire. While this book is not fun to read, it does give you all the information you will need to understand how 401Ks and IRAs work. It shows how the original tax deferred kind or the after tax Roth can be contributed to and when you can start drawing out your money with out penalties. You will learn the specific percentage of penalties you must pay if you draw out money before you are 59 1/2 years… Read more
The Power of Respect: Benefit from the Most Forgot&hellip by Deborah Norville
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The dictionary defines respect as "To feel or show deferential regard for; esteem" The author defines it as "Acknowledging the value and uniqueness of others and being mindful of their feelings, while at the same time trying to put myself in their position." The book shows how showing respect to people in different areas of life can lead to better results. It starts with self-respect which leads to positive thoughts and confidence which is the beginning of the path to success. If you respect yourself people tend to respect you also because of your actions and words. When you treat everyone in your life with respect they also appreciate it and tend to reciprocate. The authors shows through… Read more
