I have read every book that Indu Sundaresan was published, and have enjoyed them all. I expected to love this one at least as much her other books concerning the Mughals. I was quite disappointed. This wasn't a horrible book. I just expected better.
I found that Ms. Sundaresan kept repeating herself too much. By the fourth or fifth chapter, I found myself internally groaning at the words "the Luminous Tomb." He loved her deeply and wanted to honor her. I get it. I felt as though the writer was afraid that the reader would forget that fact.
