Biography:
I love beading because it's so easy to make a stylish design in an evening and wear it the next day. When I was a teenager, I couldn't find any cool clip earrings for my unpierced ears so I learned how to make my own. I've been addicted to beading ever since!

Fabulous Fabric Beads: Create Custom Beads and Art&hellip by Kristal Wick
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful:
My pal Kristal is a creative powerhouse and, in her new book, Fabulous Fabric Beads, she shares the secrets to making her popular Sassy Silkies and other fabric beads.

Fabulous Fabric Beads covers everything from supplies, materials and tools, suggestions for ideal fabrics, creating surface designs on fabric, step-by-steps for making fabric beads, using fabric to embellish beads and combining your new beads with wire wrapping, metal, fiber and embellishments.

One of my favorite parts of the book is toward the end, where Kristal shares collections of beads in beautiful color palettes with suggestions for combining colors in unexpected ways.
Felted Jewelry: 20 Stylish Designs (Lark Jewelry B&hellip by Candie Cooper

As a beader and jewelry maker, I'm always looking for new techniques that will enhance my designs. This book does not dissapoint. It delivers tons of info and inspiration. I especially appreciate the clear step-by-steps. I used to be intimidated by felting but Candie has won me over!

What no one has mentioned so far is that this book is a tome. Besides the getting started info and the actual projects, there are tons of sidebars and gallery pieces sprinkled throughout the book, which make it a hefty resource for anyone who's interested in learning about felting or incorporating felting into their jewelry designs.

Full disclosure: I met Candie at an art show and sale… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Groovy and Fun, January 27, 2006
Here are the top five reasons why I love The Impatient Beader and why it has a prominent place on my bookshelf:

1. Margot has a terrific eye for color. The projects use unusual combinations that look great together. When I get stuck in a color rut, I can just flip through the pages.

2. The projects are quick and trendy. Plus, they use beads that are easy to find.

3. There's a good combination of basic stringing projects and designs that incorporate other techniques like knotting, easy wire work and unusual ways to use beading wire.

4. The supplies/tools chapter is comprehensive and the introductory techniques are explained thoroughly… Read more
