I am a writer, who's novels have an underlining theme of altruism. In Teacher on the Run, Whitney offers herself to kindappers, in exchange for one of her students. In Rain, Emily raises her cousin, Maggie's twin, adopted daughters. In Do Not Call, Aphrodite forgivese and helps the man who scammed her out of her savings. In The Painter, a man anonymously buys his terminally ill lover's paintings, so she will not die unknown. In The Firefighter, a woman rescues a boy from a burning building.
When I am not writing, I am a substitute teacher and ESL tutor.
One of my favourite novels is The Underpainter, by Jane Urquahart. I also particularly enjoyed reading In Memory of Running, by Ron McLarty, and An Evening of Long Goodbyes by Paul Davis. My writing role models are Alice Munro and Ernest Hemingway. I love Canada, but deplore the fact that our troops were put on active duty in Afghanistan, without even a public debate. I am an animal lover, and have five cats and a dog. I like to travel and have been as far as New Zealand.
I live in Orangeville, Ontario with my husband, daughter and pets. My son lives in Toronto.
