Ryuuji Takasu is a second year student with a gentle demeanor but a perpetual glare giving him the appearance of a school rebel. Despite his best attempts he cannot change his looks and as a result all but gives up on having a girlfriend even when he ends up sitting right near his crush, Minori Kushieda. Taiga Aisaka lives alone in a large apartment. She is short of stature and short of temper which earns her the nickname "Palm Top Tiger." I love this new take on Scooby-Doo, but understand why others would see the differences as shocking. One of the most interesting new aspects of Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. is the underlying mystery which provides greater depth to the show as each show helps builds upon the next one with small parts of the larger mystery slowly being revealed. In previous versions of Scooby-Doo it was rare for the other mysteries to be mentioned and very little looking back, which worked well for the original Scooby-Doo but also made going back and re-watching previous shows something to do just to re-watch, not to watch again for subtle plot points which might have been missed in the first viewing… Read more

It is truly my hope that people will not look at the price and become scared of trying 'I Am Here!' by Ema Toyama, as this first volume actually is actually a collection of the first three Japanese volumes allowing readers to meet and follow the trials of the story's heroine Hikage Sumino, perhaps seeing moments from our own past or present, or that of someone we know, within her journey of moving away from the `shadows', of being `lost' and moving more into the `light'. As another reviewer has already mentioned, it is truly rarity to find a story that combines both an excellent meaningful, thoughtful tale and very well done artwork.
