Enjoy reviewing books, computer items, photo equipment, cycling gear, gadgets, cooking tools, geek toys and much more. Feel free to e-mail me at Gmail using my Amazon nickname of JargonTalk, and I'm on Twitter under that name as well. OK, what does "Go RTFM!" mean? It's a take-off on an old geek and military term, and stands for "Go Read That Fine Manual". or any other way you want to put it.
I do reply to messages, so drop me an e-mail message or a note. And thanks for reading this!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Pop music seems to often be just a copycat version of what was on the Billboard top hits of the previous month. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you like that genre, but it's nice to occasionally pick up on a new and refreshing talent. That's the case here with Kristinia DeBarge's debut album Exposed.
What makes this album especially good is that it has so many good tracks, something that isn't common with many debut albums today. Kristinia DeBarge is all of 19, yet she already has a top song on the Billboard Hot 100, and that's quite an accomplishment in itself. Her father is James Debarge and… Read more

Why did I bother with this? That's what I've been asking myself since I made it through the first fifty or sixty pages of Mark Ebner's Six Degrees of Paris Hilton: Inside the Sex Tapes, Scandals, and Shakedowns of the New Hollywood. Maybe it was to answer a morbid curiosity about Paris Hilton and/or books of this genre, but after reading it, I know that it's not a literary direction that I'll bother with again.
Author Ebner is someone with whom I'm familiar, since he's made his mark as a blogger, tabloid journalist and television clebrity of sorts. His style of writing can be entertaining is a simple… Read more

Did you ever get a book that you really wanted to like, but found yourself slowly pulling away from it the further that you read? This was the case for me with Colm Toibin's Brooklyn: A Novel.
And it's even worse when you hate giving the works of an author a bad review.
Had read many of the major newspaper reviews of this book prior to ordering it, and felt that it would be an interesting read. One reviewer had made a positive allusion to George Eliot's classic Silas Marner while describing a passage, and another called it "hauntingly beautiful and heartbreaking." I was looking forward to… Read more

There have been a lot of questions that have popped up in the Kindle (and other) forums requesting information on what free books might be available. Business books and resources are changing, as is the world of management and commerce as we used to know it. Some of the classic titles regarding proven management strategies are still effective, but as companies have to adapt to new changes as they never have before, so do those in management.&hellip Read more

The sheer numbers of cameras available on the market today can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, to say the least. The choice of gear and brands available can sometimes leave one wondering just where to start. Hopefully this will help clear things up a bit. Also keep in mind that what you see here&hellip Read more

Kindle books, too many others that could be added here, especially those books that deal with the craft and art of writing. Must admit to being an unabashed fan of Richard Lederer, the original verbivore, and of Chris "Rageboy" Locke. Also include novels by Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiaasen, Elmore Leonard, Lisa Scottoline, James Lee Burke, Randy Wayne White, Dave Barry and others.
There are many others in such a wide range that could be added here, but this is a very small sample of some of my favorites. Hope to add some reviews in the near future...
Really like these, but have others to add that are as good, and some even better. This is another list of favorites that doesn't do justice to the films that I might call "The Best of the Best."
