The Future of Energy Gases, U.S. Geological Survey&hellip
This is a massive compilation of reports by USGS about the situation of the supply of natural gas within the US, circa 1992. The book is good for the amount of details it freely gives about the known distribution of sources.

However you should be aware that it is now badly out of date. The very recent innovations in drilling have found vast deposits of extractable gas in the Barnett and Haynesville shales, as well as elsewhere in the US. The reserves of natural gas have grown immensely.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy read, November 13, 2009
For civil engineers and anyone else involved in putting together a proposal for a construction project, this book is a concise aid. It goes over the various steps you need to fulfill, in plain language. It is also up to date, recommending that a CD be often made with your proposal, that contains computer aided drawings that show your vision for the project.

It also describes the typical legal responsibilities. Though here, for multimillion dollar projects, you may want to consult an attorney for specific advice.

The book appears targeted at the new contractor or engineer, involved in bidding for a small building or project.

Quite apart from the implausibilities that others have commented on, there are 2 incongruities in the background. The first is in the opening scene in a bank in Berkeley. The window says Savings and Loan?? This is an American term. As far as I know, it is never used in Australia. The equivalent Aussie term, which came from the British, is Building Society. Remember that the movie is explicitly set in Australia.

The second is when the plane crashes and the police and fire brigade arrive. One of the cop cars is a black and white cruiser, just like in the US. Australia doesn't use such cars.
