This book takes an entirely different tack from most other getting-organized books. Other authors advocate figuring out the big picture first ... but most of us are so busy with daily fires that the luxury of high-level goals seems beyond our grasp. With his bottom-up approach, David Allen starts you off you a few simple ways to get a handle on your everyday tasks -- so that you can free up enough mental space to even start to think about your long-term goals. Once your head is clear and you're no longer burning so much energy on tracking things that are better tracked externally, other books (like Stephen Covey's <u>Seven Habits of Highly Effective People</u>) make nice… Read more

I bought this book and read it for a good hour. After having just read the Solaris 8 version the week before, it's clear to me that the contents of this book were not adjusted for Solaris 9. For UNIX types, s/Solaris 8/Solaris 9/g pretty much sums it up. Even the typos from the previous edition are still there.

I'm not familiar with Mr. Gibbs' other work, but in this case it appears that they brought him in to update the excellect Solaris 8 version of this book, which was originally written by a talented group of admins. Mr. Gibbs appears to have taken their money without doing any work in return.
