I live with my husband Marcus, our two dogs (Dani and Fuggles) and three cats (Randy, Catalina and Gearl) in the mountains above La Murta where we also have a cave home. With a population of just 101 people my new home is a far cry from the big city life I left behind in the UK. As well as 2 homes near La Murta we are currently renovating a large 3-storey townhouse in Moratalla which you can rent out.
I'm always available for comment on Spain, Spanish Property or anything to do with Murcia and have featured on Radio in the UK, regional Murcia TV and in many expat, women's and property magazines including: Spanish Homes Magazine, Living Abroad, BMI Baby's "Yeah Baby!" and Woman.

This is a great book to get you pointed in the right direction about the law in Spain. Searl has a plain English style of writing and is easy to understand. It's regularly updated and well worth buying the newest edition as the laws here change frequently!

I love their best lists - the best small towns, the best beaches, the best luxury hotels... It's a really great idea. The worst thing is that they don't even mention Murcia and the Costa Cálida at all! Come on guys, 704 pages and you still manage to miss a whole region out of the guide. They say they update it every year so let's see what the 2008 update brings!

I know it's my personal bug-bear, but as with most guidebooks on Spain the Murcia region isn't given the same treatment as other regions - just 10 pages (that wrongly suggest that all we've got there is beaches and golf courses) to cover the whole region while Valencia gets 50! That said, I like the Lonely Planet guides, they are beautifully produced and the colour photos are always outstanding.
