"John Brown's Trial" is a well-chosen title for Mr. McGinty's fine legal history.
Students of the American Civil War era as well as people specifically interested in the fairness of how John Brown was brought to account by the state of Virginia for his deeds at Harper's Ferry will enjoy this clearly written and complete account.

Certainly George Washington was not just a brilliant leader, but one who was exposed throughout his life to great books and advanced thinking. While not blessed with much in terms of formal higher education, he was no blockhead.
