16-year-old Rachel is more than ready to take a break from her parents, who constantly argue. She happily accepts her grandparents' invitation to spend time with them at their apartment in Palm Springs, California. Rachel loves spending time with her grandparents, and she also befriends two kids her age who happen to be children of a movie star. This book is an excellent novel about a teenager's relationship with her family and friends.
