Another reviewer states that this shelf is made of particle board, but it is high quality particle board. I disagree. This is the standard, somewhat thin particle board that you would find in any Wal-Mart shelf. There is nothing about this unit that makes it higher than average quality. The particle board shelves are supported by cheap plastic anchors, and I doubt they will hold a great deal of weight long term without sagging. This is definitely a 3-star "ok" product. I would recommend this unit if you need an inexpensive bookcase for lighter weight items only. If you are planning to fill the shelves with heavy books, look elsewhere. First off, the description on this item is misleading. There is no "battery backup". That implies AC outlet power with a secondary battery. This is a strictly battery-operated alarm clock that does not plug in. It uses 2 AAA batteries, not included. The snooze time is set at five minutes. The clock is your basic cheap black plastic model from China. I did not find it "beautiful" as one reviewer said. Nothing fancy about it at all. However, it does work for a very low price. One major downside is that the alarm will shut itself off after ONE MINUTE if you don't respond to it. I would say this alarm clock is not suitable for anyone other than a light sleeper.
