Tom Russell has indeed a very powerful follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2009 CD release 'Blood And Candle Smoke' in the new 2011 CD release 'Mesabi'. Folk singer-songwriter & great story-teller Tom Russell shows great musicianship with great compositions, story-telling, delivery & production in this new CD release (15 tracks including Bob Dylan cover version in "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and the newly re-recorded songs "Roll The Credits, Johnny" and "Love Abides"). John Wetton brings (special guests) who is who in UK rock music in his great sixth solo album. John Wetton himself is a notable rock musician (being a former member of bands Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, UK & Asia). This CD (11 tracks) is titled 'Raised In Captivity', John Wetton presents great vocals & collaborates with legendary producer Billy Sherwood. Stand-outs tracks include "Raised In Captivity" (orchestral sound, like movie score building up to wonderful guitars) & "Goodbye Elsinore" (beautiful melody, vocals & guitars). R 'n B singer-songwriter Brian McKnight releases his 14th studio album titled 'Just Me' (Disc 1) plus 30 live tracks (Disc 2) for the price of one.
Disc 1 (10 tracks, the new album 'Just Me') is a great CD release with some 'fresh sound' on tracks "Husband 2.1" & "Without You". Stand-outs/gems/solid tracks include "Fall 5.0" (wonderful melody & vocals), "Just Lemme Know" (beautiful music, great clear vocals & melody), "Careless Whisper" (an incredible jazzy cover/interpretation of the duo Wham's famous track, great jazzy piano) & "Just Me" (wonderful piano, melody & vocals.
