Very useful text regarding developing literacy in the classroom for both seasoned and new teachers. Many examples provided. Clear prose; challenging ideas presented. A must have text.

Even though I bought it for a class, I'm still enjoying reading it. What more can you ask for from a textbook? :)

This book is really helpful to a first year teacher. I like that there are some real life examples and stories and not just fiction situations. The book is laid out well and easy to read, so I think it would be a great pick if you are just reading on your own and not part of class. I found it to be very similar to other textbooks I've had to read, so a lot of the information was not too new for me, but if you haven't looked into content area reading, then this is a great resource!

This book lists for $118. Good thing we are getting such a great discount and only having to pay eighty or so bucks for a paperback. I am perplexed as to why it isn't more expensive. Why not $500 dollars? Go ahead educational text publishers, give it a try. Why not? You could get away with it. You know you want the money. Charge us 500, 600, 700 dollars, and then you could rationalize why you have to charge so much. It doesn't matter what you say or what anyone thinks anyway because we are forced to buy your books for our classes. The only reason some people don't suck the blood out of babies is that it is too hard to pry them out of the arms of their mothers. Unlike blood, which you can only drink so much of anyway, stripping money from students never gets boring and you can never get enough. I think the French had it right. We need to help some people in this world get their heads straight. So tell me boys and girls, what have you learned today? Screw everyone and grab all you can. That's right. Very good. You'll all make great American citizens one day. And so, while we all are distracted with the threat of hordes of foreign terrorists running down from the hills to destroy our virtuous and peaceful way of life, the true evil festers and rots us from within. Class dismissed.

I rented Content Are Reading and Writing by Norman Unrau for last Fall semester and they sent it on time, but oh surprise! The book was definetely not in "acceptable rental condition." Someone had spilled coffee over the book. I accepted it anyway because it had no missing pages and the text was legible. My disgusting surprise was when I returned it. They did not accept the return because of water damage!!! HA!!! They are charging me $194.19 for a book that is in a horrible condition and it's not even my fault! It was like that in the first place when I received it. I suggest that no one should rent or buy used books from apex_media; they will blame their mistakes on their customers. If you receive a book that looks damaged, even if it's a small detail, return it and claim your money back immediately. This is just not fair.

This book got to my house quickly and was in wonderful shape! I love how much cheaper it is to buy here rather than at my school's bookstore!
