I am a teacher of physics at a private school, and have decided to adopt this text for one of my classes. The text is written in a clear way so that one can understand the conceptual nature of physics fundamentally.

The book is not written so that you will be bored in reading the book. There are great explanations of Newton's Laws (though not to the detail that I usually cover), and the various other topics in physics. The homework problems are similar to the example problems in the text so it makes for seamless applications of the principles that are learned. The workbooks are excellent as well.

Good luck to all of you that will be learning physics.

I bought this book for my phys I class and although my teacher sucked balls this book was extremely helpful and unlike most text books it explains the topics fairly well giving relevant examples. plus the price was great for a new edition of the book. I recommend it.

One of the best physics texts I've encountered. Randall Knight's been involved in physics education research for years and has worked to create a text that includes tools, descriptions and representations that help students get the heart of the subject. If you want a thorough book that addresses the content, conceptual understanding, AND still supports mathematical understanding, Knight's College Physics is an excellent choice. An algebra based college text that's great for the new AP Physics 1/2 sequence!

Great physics book for a student interested in health sciences. Provides helpful example problems and useful practice problems and relates physics to real life applications, which is nice to see.

great buy for what its worth!

Comes with: Volumes 1 + 2 of College Physics textbook, Student workbooks for volumes 1 + 2, and mastering physics access code!

I can't wait to use this book for the next year! This definitely is the best option if you are required to get this textbook.

Purchased for a course. This book is actually quite a good read. It assists in learning and is easy to revise from. I would recommend it. Please note that this book is pre-calculus so it has traditional algebraic style formulas only.

This book is quite difficult to read and follow. The paragraphs and pages are extremely messy and distracting. For example, as you are reading along it is very common to find something such as, "Figure 1.3," written in blue or "Equation 15.13." It frequently inserts math equations into the sentence without defining all of terms. Additionally, charts, graphs, example problems, and photos are strewed across every page and quickly become distracting as you attempt to read the chapter. I fully understand that this is a college-level text and that some previous knowledge of physics is expected, however, I find it to be of little help with the course. If you're required to use this text, I have two suggestions: buy another book to assist you or frequent "Khan Academy."
