I have never read such a comprehensive text book in the human biology/anatomy&physiology field! Every lesson contributes to the broader picture and builds upon what you've already learned about the human body.
I've deducted one star for the construction of the workbook. The paper is made of the same nonporous substance as the handbook. Ink smudges and smears, and pencil won't work if you've already erased a previous answer. This also makes it difficult to follow the enthusiastic "COLOR IT!" instructions, aside from the fact that the pictures we're supposed to color are already shaded, making any added color a moot point.
All-in-all, I'm very satisfied with the information given in these books. They're appropriate for both college and high school classrooms. How many textbooks could make that claim?
