We have been using reveal 65 indoor flood lights in our office with recessed fixtures. Although the bulbs give off wonderful light under which to work, they frequently shut off from overheating. After cooling, they can be turned back on. So if you plan to use these in recessed fixtures, make sure there is a space around the bulb to prevent this problem.

Having used this exact same bulb model for several years, I ordered 4 of these very expensive bulbs. The first one lasted about 2 weeks, rather than the year+ life of my previous bulbs. Thinking I got one bad bulb in the batch, I replaced it with a second bulb, which also lasted 2 weeks. When I tried to get replacements or a refund from Amazon, I was told it was "too late" to return the bulbs--only 5 weeks after I placed the order!

This is bright light, close to full spectrum, devoid of the yellow tint from most incandescent bulbs. It's most pleasing in desk lamps or overhead canister fixtures and equally nice in floor lamps around the home.
Just a side note, this type light is proven to help with the "winter blues".

I believe that these light bulbs are counterfeit. They look nothing like Reveal bulbs and are not labeled anywhere that they were made by GE. I would otherwise give GE Reveal bulbs 3 stars. They are very attractive, but quality is suspect and they are too expensive.

I wanted these for the shower room. I installed both and they worked and looked nice and bright. I took a shower that night. The next morning one of the bulbs was broken and wouldn't illuminate. I removed it and replaced with the 4 year old Phillips soft white floods and so $7.50 to use it one day was a complete waste of money. These are expensive so beware of the cost and that in my experience, one blew within 24 hours with maybe a maximum of 60 minute use.
I also purchased a 4 pack of 60w reveal bulbs and one of those didn't work at all.
All things considered, a waste of money for me and I would not purchase a "Reveal" bulb again.

I have a houseful of Reveal lightbulbs because the color is so much nicer. For example, wood cabinets can look kind of yellow with standard bulbs, but Reveal gives the wood a much richer and more natural look. That said, in my lengthy experience with these bulbs, they don't last as long and they are about 2x as expensive. The atmosphere in the house is so much nicer that it's worth to me. But admittedly it's annoying when they burn out so fast. This mainly applies to the floodlights.

Bought this in January and it already burned out a few weeks ago. Felt incensed enough to write my first Amazon review to specifically warn anyone against buying this lightbulb.

I've been using these GE bulbs (as well as the "True Value" brand) in my den track lights for about 30 years. I have used more of the GE bulbs in the the last 9 months than the previous 29-plus years. To say that they are worthless is an understatement. You are lucky to get 100 hours out of them. More like less than 40 hours.

The only thing left to say is: Please, please Amazon, allow zero stars.

The ceiling fan in our sun room has four of these little buggers. These recessed floodlight light bulbs can be difficult to find given the trend to CFL and LED lighting. Mercifully, they are still available on Amazon, and Prime shipping gets them to me in a timely manner.
