First, let me start with the positives. This is a great product out of the box. The plastic base, when filled with water, holds the pole and backboard securely. Metal hardware is heavy-weight and powder-coated an attractive blue color. Two screws / bolts allow you to adjust the angle of the pole (easy) as well as the height of the backboard and rim (moderately difficult). The backboard is attractive and substantial and the rim and net are high-end. This is the best basketball system I have found for a pool in that it feels like you are shooting hoops on a real backboard and not some cheap toy. It is not EXACTLY the same as shooting on an in-ground system, in that the pole wiggles a little and the backboard gives a little, but it is close enough considering you are in a pool :)

The big downside for this product is rust. I have owned this for three years and it is starting to degrade - large flakes of rust are falling into the pool and it appears that this will be its last year. It is rusting at the bottom of the pole, where the angle brackets meet the pole - even the rim is rusting (and discoloring the net). I live in Southern California where it never rains, so the rust issue is surprising. For a heavy steel pipe to rust completely through in a few years is unusual - I have steel all around the outside of our house that does much better (steel fencing, steel gates, etc). I hope they either improve the metal they use, or figure out some other solution.

UPDATE: This is such a good product that I threw out my old one (it rusted) and bought a new one. Perhaps it is wishful thinking on my part, but after one year with the new product, there is only the tiniest sign of rust on any parts. At the end of the summer I will take the unit down, clean it, and seal any rusting areas with clear epoxy. Just be aware that this maintenance is part of owning this basketball system.

Works great. I would order it again. I will also be able to use it as a basketball goal for my kids during the pool off-season. It will take 2 people to put together.

Very sturdy assembly and full size hoop. So far its been a lot of fun. I only wish they provided a drain plug for the base. You can still drain by removing the two top filler caps and tipping it to the side though.

We bought this basketball goal for our pool and have been very happy with it. Our son uses it constantly and it is holding up great. It was what we were expecting and we would recommend this purchase.

This is a great pool basketball hoop. Very heavy duty to support the big jams and it looks good.

Overall this is a very good product. Rust is beginning to appear around the rim and some other spots on the hoop within a month of use. Other than that it seems fine

It was a pain to assemble but only took a couple hours. I got a rust inhibitor spray and sprayed all over based on the reviews. Still with the spray I can see a couple rust spots forming after only a couple of weeks. This is ridiculous. The board and net is super sturdy and strong but a big fail on the rust. Also the holes for the sand are on top and not the back side like the big full size lifetime nets. Was a pain to fill with sand. Not happy at all about the rust spots already forming.

Recieved product on time and took about a hour to assemble. Mostly becuase I had my 12 year old do the assembly with my help. It recommends at least 2 people, but really need a third hand when putting on the goal onto the back stop. Very sturdy construction and beats the plastic goals I've had in the past. The base is very solid/stable when filled with water. Leave the collar a little loose so when the kids accidentally hang on the goal, the post will slide vs getting the whole system pulled into the water.

I purchased this product through Amazon Warehouse Deals (meaning it was not brand new for whatever reason). It's a great poolside product to have. I've had it over a month now and I've gotten a ton of use out of it. For those of us who are vertically challenged, you can even use it outside of the pool because the height is adjustable. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because the particular one I purchased (again through Amazon Warehouse Deals) was missing a crucial piece. The specific piece it was missing was one of the longer solid metal rods that goes through the stem of the basketball hoop and the wheels to attach it to the base. Without this piece, you are unable to build the basketball hoop. I contacted Amazon about this and they stated that they were unable to send me this particular piece and that I would have to return the product and re-purchase it. Instead of going through the hassle of that, I decided to drive over to our local hardware store and, thankfully, I was able to find a metal rod with the same diameter and I just sawed it down to the size I needed. All in all, this is easily my favorite poolside product.

HOURS of fun for the niece and nephew. Perfect height...9 and 13 yr olds can easily use while in shallow end of pool...I was worried it would be too tall). One piece arrived bent preventing ability to put together. The company was extremely receptive...on a Saturday!...and sent replacement piece same week. While some purchasers complain that it isn't lasting enough years, we feel if it gets us through one summer it is money well spent and worth it! And what 46 year old aunt doesn't love to hear, "We didn't know you were a baller!" Haha! Highly recommend.
