Let me start by describing who these chews were for: I have a 13 week old, 20 pound female Rottweiler who is playful and a chewer! (As most puppies are)

The hard puppy Nylabone wasn't holding her interest, probably because she couldn't make much progress on it so I decided to try something that she could actually put a dent in, and eat it while she was at it. I will admit that when I purchased these, I didn't realize that the description said "Petite", but I figured "Hey, my puppy is still a puppy, it will be fine". While they were 'fine' in the sense that she enjoyed it and didn't make her sick, it didn't achieve my goal in keeping her occupied because they only lasted a few short minutes. I have found that the Nylabone regular flexible puppy bone works well for her right now Nylabone Puppybone Teething Chew Toy, Regular but I am still looking for an edible puppy bone that last more then a few minutes. I just ordered the non-petite version and we will see how those stand up. I will update when we test those out!

2/19/2013 Update:
Okay so I just tried out the "Regular" size Healthy Edibles and they did last longer then the petites. One bone kept my pup occupied for almost an hour. (She took a little break about half way into it) :) Although she does seem to prefer the bacon flavor over the lamb and apple ones.

As a treat to our 2 year old ACD mix, we bought this bone for her. She loves her nylabone durachew (much to my dismay) and we were aware that this one was actually edible before we bought it. We don't often give her treats like this, and she really seemed to love it. So much so, in fact, that the entire thing was nearly gone within 10 minutes..... and we purchased the largest one - the one with the first on the end since our dog is 50+ lbs.

I had a bad feeling about it, and a few hours later, it was confirmed. My dog started gagging and then vomitted. She ate it at about 4pm and got sick around 10pm. Slept through the night, although she woke me up a few times, and was still licking her mouth and gagging the next morning. I don't know if it's because the bone is really rich and she's not used to it, but I wouldn't recommend it unless it's a product you and your dog are already familiar with as it was our experience that it made our dog ill.

If you do purchase this product, definitely make sure you watch your dog with it - if they're eating it too fast, consider taking it away so they don't devour the entire thing in 10 minutes like ours did.

I gave one to my dog and the next morning he threw up. I didnt think much of it -until I got home that evening. He did not eat dinner and had vomited in several areas. Some of the vomit had blood in it. I did an internet serach and this is not uncommong and can result in high vet bills - not to mention some dogs have died. Apparently they are NOT digested well and get caught in digestive track. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TO YOU DOGS!

These "edible" treats should be recalled. Our 90 pound Doberman puppy began throwing up the night after eating part of this bone. Pieces of the bone created a blockage in his abdomen that had to be removed by emergency surgery. The pieces removed by the surgeon were sharp and would have penetrated his intestines. The vet said he would not have made it another day if we did not do the surgery. Our dog now has stitches in his stomach and metal staples from his chest to his groin. It will be months before he can run and play again. He is lucky to be alive. These chews are NOT edible. We hope other dog owners will read this and save themselves from the trauma we have been through because of Nylabone....

My 6 lb. chihuahua loves these. He tears through it in maybe 5 minutes. Only wish it would last longer, since it's supposed to be a chew bone/treat.

Warning to other dog owners: the edible Nylabones are extremely dangerous for dogs with a big & greedy appetite. My dog swallowed it whole within 30 seconds of giving it to her and choked on it. She was fully unconscious before I could dislodge the bone and breathe into her nose to bring her back to life... We almost lost her over this bone. If your dog is a greedy chewer or eater, then please don't buy edible Nylabones.

The package says "longer lasting". BUT may i ask...longer than WHAT? geesh my Keeshonds both scarfed these down in less than 5 mins. I was hoping for a long lasting bone that they could stay busy with for awhile. NOT!! Thankfully its not full of bad stuff, and they obviously like them, but for the price they are, i was hoping for a little chew "TIME" ya know?

My 8 week old corgi puppy has been working on one chew bone off and on for the past 5 days. He seems to enjoy that it's edible and that he's able to wear it down, as opposed to the inedible flavored Nylabones that he's hardly touched. It can keep him busy for several minutes, which for him is really good!

My barely 5 lb. 6 months old yorkie loves these bones! I have been buying them for a few months now and she is so excited when ever she knows she is getting one. They also keep her occupied for a little while as she tries to burry them into blankets, the couch cusions, and any corner of the house she can. Very entertaining! But once she is ready to eat them she goes to town and doesn't want anybody messing with her because she doesn't want them to take the bone from her, very protective over the bone. Also, better price on Amazon than they are at PetSmart or anywhere else!

My retriever puppy loved the bacon flavored bone. He ate it in about ten minutes. A few hours later he had diarrhea, then proceeded to be up all night long, sick, until about 6am. He vomited and had diarrhea all night long. Not only did that keep us up all night, but my poor doggie felt terrible for hours. Definitely will be throwing the rest of the pack away and never purchasing again.
