A lot of people are attracted to Samson mics because they're affordable. The same people may also end up getting an AT2020 instead, which is another popular lower priced condenser mic. But, if those people want a shock mount for the AT2020, they'll find the Audio Technica shockmount is a bit expensive. FYI, in case you're in that situation, the AT2020 fits into this Samson shockmount quite well. The only thing to consider, and it's an aesthetic thing, is that the AT2020 is black, and this shockmount is silver, and it does look a bit dorky in between a black mic stand and a black mic (this shockmount was designed for silver Samson mics). But it's a good price.

Edit: be sure to note the March of 2012 comment on this review; it appears things have changed since April of 2009.

I recently bought an Audio Technica 2020 and was looking for a shockmount for it, I bought the one that Audio Technica makes and I was not satisfied with the quality, so I returned it and came across the Samson SP01. My first thought was that it looked just like the shockmount I have for my Neumann TLM 103. I immediately purchased it after seeing that people were using it with the AT 2020. As soon as it arrived I put my AT 2020 in it and it looked stunning, after I mounted it on my on-desk mic stand I bumped the table a few times to see how it worked. In short it works great, The SP01 isolates the mic extremely well. I also tested the shockmount with my Studio Projects C1 and Rode k2 (both very heavy mics) and it works great. One word of advice it seems that some people are having problems hooking this shockmount to their mic stand ( which I find extremely amusing). Like most shockmounts the Samson SP01 has an adapter that is too small for most US mic stands already in the mount ( the part where the shockmount connects to the mic stand). THIS IS EASY TO REMOVE!! All you have to do is take a coin and unscrew it!! Once you unscrew the adapter the shockmount will connect to your stand.

I was looking around for a shock mount to use with my new Behringer C1 condenser mike. The Samson mikes appeared to have the same mounting system so I took a chance and ordered the SP01. It fits and works perfectly with my Behringer mike! The mount appears to be well made, is attractive, and does the job.

Since most of the reviews seemed to be focused on the Audio Technica AT2020 Side Address Cardiod Condensor Studio Mic, I wasn't sure if this would work with the newer Audio-Technica ATR2500-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB Microphone. At this price I thought I'd bite the bullet and try it out for anyone else who might be in my situation. Unless I've somehow installed it incorrectly (this is very possible), it does seem to work with the ATR2500-USB just fine after you remove the internal screw that comes installed at the base (I just used my fingernail). Be warned though, the shockmount does physically obstruct your ability to use the volume buttons/headphone monitoring. See the customer images for a photo.

Not much to say about a Spider Mount other than it really does do what it claims to do, providing isolation from vibration between the desk stand the microphone.

This is a well made metal shock mount. I purchased to see if it would work for the AKG Perception 120 after seeing a 3rd party mount advertised for both Samson and AKG Perception. This mount does NOT fit AKG Perception Mics; the threaded nut is too short. However, this shock mount DOES fit the MXL 990 microphone.

If you've read other reviews, you know this mount is good especially at its price point, but the main question is will this shockmount fit your mic?

Took the risk and purchased his shock mount not knowing whether or not it would fit the MXL v67g. It does, but you need to pry off the round threaded piece on the mount with a flat head screw driver, then use the black threaded piece that came with the MXL v67g to mount the mic.

Works great and better than the MXL shockmounts which use a spring like mechanism and friction to hold the mic up which I have and did not like because it seemed very insecure.

This is not a fits all type of Shockmount, but wished it came with adjustable threading or adapters so that this mount could be used for any microphone with threading at the base.

Samson SP01 Shockmount = 5 STARS
I bought this Samson SP01 Shockmont to use with my Audio Tecnica AT2020USB microphone. It looked as though the two pieces would fit together, but they don't. Not very well anyway. Because of the construction of the mic, it would not tighten down enough to keep from wiggling around. So I took a rubber gasket made for a typical garden hose and used it for a spacer. It them tightened down perfectly. Problem solved. Now the two pieces work perfectly and in harmony together.
This Audio Technica AT2020USB Condenser USB Microphone works beautifully. Just plug it in to any USB and off you go. How easy is that? The sensitivity is great and fully adjustable.

This Shock Mont does what it is supposed to do and eliminate vibration and exterior noise that can translate into your recording. Although the two pieces are different colors, they look great together. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I previously purchased the Heil shock mount (SM-2) for my PR40, but was now searching for a cheaper solution for my partner's PR30. I read online that someone had used this one by popping out the threaded mount at the bottom and using the included mic holder (SM-3).

I just received the Spider shock mount and used a small flat head screwdriver to gently pry off the threaded mounting nut at the bottom. This makes enought room for the PR40 or PR30 to fit throught. Since there is now nothing to hold the mic in place, just use the mic holder that came with the mic to attach it to the mount.

This mount is well built and seems like it will last as long as the Heil mount that I bought for four times the money.

A previous review mentioned that the part that attaches to a mic stand was made out of plastic. This is not the case with the one that I received. It is 100% metal. It is threaded for standard mic stands and come with a reducer nut pre-installed that I removed to fit my equipment.

Great buy and a recommended cost saver if you have Heil mics and need a shock mount.

I had read another review in here from someone using this with the MXL V67G after popping out the existing mounting ring with a flat blade screwdriver, so I took a chance and ordered one for myself. That guy was 100% correct! I just popped out the existing mounting ring with a flat blade and my V67G slipped right in and could be tighly secured using the black mounting ring supplied with the V67G.

I had read a lot of negative reviews about the MXL shockmount for this microphone so I didn't want that one. This shockmount bears a striking resemblance to the MXL 890 shockmount that came standard with my 890 vocal mic and with the same quality of construction. The price is definitely more than fair for what you get here!

So... If you have an MXL V67G order with confidence! I would say that this would be a much better choice than the MXL alternative.

I was also blown away how fast Amazon got this thing to me! I ordered it last night and it showed up on my front porch this afternoon!
