My son wanted a slushie making cup he saw on tv. After having trouble with their customer service, shipping, etc., I ordered these. They came really quickly and worked perfectly! My five-year-old could stir Kool-aid, OJ & yogurt, and more and it turned slushy perfectly. It even gets a bit like a Popsicle or ice cream if you leave it in the mug longer. I can mix more "adult beverages" in mine too! They were a great buy and I convinced several friends to purchase them too!

This one works better even though it looks cheap. The ones that are translucent and in blue, pink and no color all have a visible seam. The instructions on the others say to freeze them upside down. Well that helps but it will fail anyway just not in the freezer. My old one let go in my lap. The next thing I knew I looked like I made water in my pants. The slush mug has no seam to give out. Just don't put in in the dish washer and no sharp objects in the drink/core area.
This also gets much colder so I do put it in the freezer upside down but that is so my beverage will not freeze in the bottomn all the cold is higher up.
The only thing I would change is I'd make a larger one I always buy big gulps, 44 oz drinks at the Ice house and SONIC.
All IN ALL I give this a Big 5 stars and two thumbs up.
Hope this helped.

I have to tell you that I was so excited about getting this product and using it all the time, however I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the slush when using diet drinks, ie; no sugar. The ice crystals don't form as nicely as it would if the product is made with a lot of sugar. If you plan on using with sugar filled sodas, then this product will be good for you, for diet drinks, thumbs down.

I ordered these, after reading reviews of several different types of similar products, and the reviews on the Slush Mugs. I was excited, waiting for them to arrive, because I had almost bought one of the other products several times, after seeing them in the store, but luckily, came to Amazon to see what others had to say.
When the Slush Mugs arrived, I stuck the inner sleeves in the freezer for over 24hrs, to ensure that they had sufficient time to really freeze up. It was actually perfect timing, as our AC happened to go out the day after these arrived! lol
I like that, unlike similar products, there isn't a lot of shaking that has to be done, and there is a lot less mess! They really do freeze products, and I like that they are soooo easy to use!
They don't really 'freeze' drinks as well as I expected, even using previously chilled drinks. They are definitely not for drinks that are warm or room temperature.
They don't come with lids!!! Very big downside, especially if you have kids!
They do not hold much liquid at all, which is disappointing, especially since I like to go get the large Icee drinks. With kids in the household, you definitely need quite a few of these, to ensure that everyone can drink one when they want, as they do need to be stuck back in the freezer after use to cool a bit more.
Even though it looks like I listed more 'Cons', this really isn't a bad product. I can deal with not having lids, especially for me, and I just try to ensure the kids stay in the kitchen, especially if using drinks that can stain or get all sticky. The Slush Mugs really do work, if you have a little patience and do stir it up. They are a great way to get the kids to drink more juices, as they seem to taste better when the kids feel like they're drinking a 'Slush'!
Overall, we have been using these for a couple weeks or so, and I haven't had any real problems, and do like the Slushes I get to drink. I did follow tips from others reviewing on Amazon, and freeze the inserts upside down, which seems to help. I am going to need to order more inserts, so that we can have cold slushes more often without waiting for the two to freeze.
I would definitely recommend these if you are looking for an easy at home slush, especially after seeing all the reviews on the competitor products!

this mug is pretty good it works better if you put it in the freezer for 12hrs or more. you hafta mix every 5 min and you hafta scrape the ice off the sides when you do. it works pretty good though.

Slushee mugs: I got my two from CloseOut Zone thru Amazon in mid July 2013. I had a mug like this many years ago and lost it. I was thrilled when I got my mugs; they work just the way I remember. I didn't get it for a kid; I got it for me an adult and wanted to have an extra one on hand. If you haven't used one before, please know you need to scrape the sides, wait a few minutes, and scrape again. At least that's the way I do it. My mugs happen to be blue; color of mugs do not matter at all to me.
I like to mix diet orange soda with milk and Splenda and put it in the slushee mug and eat it for a snack. I imagine doing a drink with sugar would do even better but I'm satisfied with my diet orange drink.
Yes, I got my mugs very quickly and I would order from CloseOut Zone again if I needed to do so. I am a pleased customer. Kay in NC 9.12.13

I had put in the freezer over night. The next morning was my son's birthday so I wanted to surprise him. Unfortunately it did not work!! So I reread the instructions. It said temp needed to be -10 in freezer for best results. Well our fridge setting was only 3 out of 5 cold setting. So I increased the setting to 4. When we got back after school he tried it again and it instantly began freezing as soon as we poured in the liquid. HE LOVES THIS!! I just ordered a friend their 3 children each one.

I would give zero stars if it was possible.
we have tried diet coke, several kinds of sugared sodas (even mountain dew with actual cane sugar), gatorade, sweetened and unsweetened tea and even water ... and even after freezing the white insert in the deep freeze for over 24 hours, and using VERY cold liquids, neither of the cups I purchased would create slush of any kind.
would cost more to send back than my time is worth, so they will probably go in the trash.

My 16 year old son was looking at these on line a few days before Christmas. I decided to order them and make them stocking stuffers for him and for his 19 year old brother. They smiled when they pulled them out of the stocking, and they've been smiling ever since. They love making slushes with Cranberry flavored Sierra Mist soda (made with real sugar, not High Fructose Corn Syrup). This gift was a winner.
