Although these window coverings are supposed to be temporary, I have some that were installed many years ago and are still hanging and looking good. These are much better than the "Redi Shades" that are available at Lowe's, Home Depot or Bed, Bath & Beyond with the clips. I highly recommend them. Most people will not know that they are "temporary."

I bought three shades to cover three windows situated side by side in a 96" wide frame. They are original aluminum sash windows from the 60's with no window sills or casements. Hey, it was the 60's, what were we thinking? I wasn't going to invest in custom shades or vertical blinds as I am only renting the place, so I ordered these. First: room darkening. Don't expect to close these blinds and be thrown into complete darkness. If you want that, get those black-out shades. It does block the sun, though, and helps keep the room cooler, and eliminates glare on my TV, so I'm fine with that. Cutting to size: Geez! Not as easy as the picture, cause they're slippery little devils! Utility blade was useless, at least in my clumsy hands, so I used my chicken bone shears. Then I smoothed out the rough edges with my dremel tool. Works for me. Adhesive: I had to wash the windows anyway, so I washed the framework while I was at it. I made sure it was good and dry before attaching the shades. The adhesive strips grabbed on real well, smoothed out easily, and looks like they'll hang on a good while. This summer will be the real test, as the windows face directly west and take a lot of heat. Overall, happy to try an option to expensive custom blinds, the look is ok, raises and lowers easily. Would be really cool if the manufacture tried to make these in a honeycomb pleat for an even better look. (Hint to Achim)

8 months later....
All three shades have held up very well! They withstood direct summer sun like troopers! I am now moving and will leave these for the new tenants to enjoy (besides, the adhesive is so strong I fear I'll do damage if I try to take them down.

I am moving to and old place that I just purchased, and as there is much work to be done on the place, I am buying MORE of these shades to use for the next 6 months, until I am ready to invest in good custom shades.
A great buy! (Check out the 3 pack and 6 pack offers to save a few bucks)

Great product with one exception, I have to deduct one star for the description failing to mention that this product is NOT white (as it appears in the picture). It's actually a smokey blue gray. I'm sure that would make a huge difference for many. Previously I owned a white one in another brand that lasted about 4 years. From the looks of it, I can safely say I'd expect the same or better from this brand.

The length is a little shorter than advertised, so the bottom 2 inches of my window are uncovered. They are $5 at Target, same product but brand is Bali. The adhesive is strong though, and they darken enough for my needs (maybe 85%, much better than standard blinds).

This are not room darkening shades. Where the draw strings run in and out of the pleats the holes are large and allow
way to much light in. The concept is nice and they have a very nice look but blackout roll down shades do a better job.
So if you need a cave to sleep in this is not the item for you not even with room darkening roman shades, which
I do have over top of these.

I used to have a cheap curtain and wanted something that looked nicer and more permanent. This is better than the shades with the clips because you don't need to keep track of them! The drawstring mechanism used to open and close is very easy. It looks great! Love the price!

These shades work exceptionally well, but are not room darkening. We have had ours for 3+ years now in 2 of our bedrooms and are very happy with them. Work well and easily with the central cord button. I did secure them with extra "press on adhesive squares" purchased from the local hardware store, because one of my cats pulled it down ! Has stayed up well ever since.

The blind is good quality for what it is, but not very room-darkening. It is more light-filtering, plenty of light still comes through.
