Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 2 1/2 yr old daughter. She was initially not very interested in the main toy until she discovered the card inserts with all the princesses on them... then she wouldnt put it down! She figured out how to use the cards in a manner of minutes and spent over an hour discovering what each card offered. Down side is one of the cards did not work -- the musical birds card --i cant remember if it was a Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella.. this didnt bother my daughter at all and she just put it in the back of the pile. Other than that, excellent toy that she absolutely loves.

Being a Disney Princess enthusiast, I thought my 3-year old daughter would love this for Christmas 2011. Boy was I wrong. It lasted a few minutes, then, for the past few months, I have found the insert cards all over the house, despite my best efforts to keep them intact with the touch pad mechanism.

Basically, the "castle" is a touch-pad, and behind it, are several different cards you place over the touch pad for different games, learning opportunities, etc. Some children might definitely find it interesting. I was so hoping my daughter would, because I found it to be rather cute. But, now that I am experiencing her younger brother being the age of 3, just be aware of what seems to be typical of this age. Any toy with multiple parts, papers, slides, WHATEVER, will be at risk of having proverbial feet and walking all over the place. Children can be taught, but the risk of this remains. And, the chances of them using it in other creative ways (the cards were imaginary grocery receipts during store play one day) is there too, which is not necessarily bad. Spend a little extra and get Fisher-Price iXL 6-in-1 Learning System (Pink)with the Disney Princess game or something like unto it. Your little princess will stay engaged longer, and you won't have to worry about missing game pieces.

We have two kids aged 2 and 5, so thought this would be good for both of them to share.

The plus points to this, it's pretty sturdy and won't fall apart and it's very easy to use, both kids are able to play with it.

What's not so good, the cards are fairly flimsy and the holder in the back is very flimsy, so the cards keep falling out as the clip just doesn't hold them in place and the cards get folded up pretty easily.

The batteries also don't last very long, always seem to be replacing them for this thing which is a bit of a chore and the most annoying thing is the volume. There is a couple volume settings, but that just means it's either really loud or just obnoxiously loud.

This is a good learning toy, but the words associated with alphabets should have been more common words. and should have had few more features.

Wish we would have listened to the bad reviews. This toy worked for about 2 seconds. Got it for our 2 year old for Christmas hoping it would be a great gift. We couldn't get it to stay on. Tried everything to make it work. Don't waste time or money on this. We are sending it back and now have to find another gift last min for Christmas. Don't ignore the bad reviews!!

I'll put it out there, I HATE VTech toys. They are noisy. If you leave the sound on, they randomly make noise at strange times. Therefore, this doesn't have the potential to be a fair review. However, I gave this toy fair judgment...as it was a gift from my parents to my two daughters, aged 2 and 3. Another little nugget of insight...we have a few toys already like this that we received for around the same price that are MUCH better. Therefore, that could be one of the reasons why our girls bored of this toy so quickly. Another reason could simply be the simplistic nature of the toy. There are several sheets of princesses that slide over a board of letters and items beginning with the letters of the alphabet on the main castle piece. We have a laptop toy and a toy with a microphone that have the same basic setup but have 3 or 4 capabilities with each "button" on the main board of buttons. This may sound all nitpicky...but the toy is simply simple...and not worth $15-20 bucks. We received it for Christmas this year and are already consigning it only 2 months later.

This item arrived on time. It was exactly how the website describes it. It brought a smile to my nieces face when she opened this at Christmas! It has pages that you load and do the activities, the other pages are stored in the back, and it is easy enough for her to do all by herself she loves playing the games and learning with the princesses! Totally recommend this product.
